Watching the Bulls broadcast and they’re praising us. Nice to hear other crews talk about us.

Basically that they were interested to see the next step that we take. They praised JI for being a difference maker on defense. They like our continuity. They also liked the KCP addition since he is a vet with championship experience for the young group to learn from.

My problem is that the obvious narrative was that AB was the point guard of the future and drafted to replace Fultz. Fultz fans hated it for obvious reasons, Fultz deniers hated it because AB was a non-shooter (and a secondary playmaker).Knightro wrote:Bensational wrote:Knightro wrote:It just annoys me because I actually am a big Anthony Black fan and I don't want it to come off like I'm not, which I think unfortunately has happened.
I’ve never really worried you don’t like him, just argued with your portrayal of him and the implications that has on his future. It’s just been arguments/disagreements over semantics and philosophical approaches for me.
I don't think, personally, I made any implications on Black's future other than saying I think he'd have benefited more this year from being on the basketball in his rookie season.
In my opinion (and I don't think I need to add the caveat of saying in my opinion since I'm the one saying it, so it's obviously my opinion) Black was not used in a way that was particularly conducive to his long-term success.
Perhaps you did think it was, and that's ok. You're entitled to think that if you want.
I just think AB got an underserved doubt as a result of Fultz politics.

So let me get this straight. Cole is literally benched in favour of Jett and AB, after playing garbage basketball in the first 2 games. Now today, youd think he would come in a bit more humble, but no, its still the Cole Anthony show, waiving off younger players and jacking up airballs. Honestly sick to fking death of this moron. Cut him and move on.

Supposedly he has had a cold, which is why he didn’t get minutes over AB/Jett. But yeah, Cole looks the most redundant in the rotation based on what we have seen in the preseason.
M. Wagner, Cole, and Gary seem like the odd ones out.

I genuinely feel mad whenever Cole has the ball. Cannot stand watching him play. At least Gary and Moe embrace the team first mindset and understand their roles and play within them. Coles a yappy little know it all who doesnt have the game to back it up. Get rid of him and you will allow breathing room for the others to grow.

not handing AB this role last year, imo, looked mutually beneficial for us, tbh.eyriq wrote:My problem is that the obvious narrative was that AB was the point guard of the future and drafted to replace Fultz. The team got into the playoffs, by limiting mistakes and turnovers by not handing the floor general role to a rookie who did look like a deer on headlight despite the limited role last year.
AB got to adjust to NBA speed in his first year, now he looks comfortable.
His game has always been there, he did it last year in summer league too.
One could argue that Jett do even look faster and less tentative now than last year.

i agree. Eventually the Magic will move on from Cole. He is the only guy that really doesn’t fit the archetype of positional siz now.shadrock wrote:VFX wrote:shadrock wrote:So let me get this straight. Fair points. Mosely is doing a great job handling things and developing talent.

Cole will propably lose his minutes, i wonder how he handles it. If we are serious about winning, having more time on the team shouldnt matter when you are worse player.
Good to see Black doing well in pg role. We need playmaking even more thqn shooting.
We have many good,.hungry guys. Tensions will propably build up until consolidation trade.

Re: 2024-2025 Preseason Game 3: Philadelphia 76ers (3-2) at Orlando Magic (0-2) - 7pm ET
People need to calm down
It's preseason. There is viral video of Jokic last night refusing to play defense because, why bother, it's preseason?!
As i post this, Lakers are down by near 50, Jazz lost to Blazers by 38. Warriors are 5-0 in preseason, Nuggets 1-4, Kings 0-5. Non of it matters. They all start at 0-0 within few days.
Some teams used presason to really just throw s*** at wall expecting to get new Salvador Dali picture out of it, some use it to build chemistry, some treat it as waste of time with high injury risk.
Embiid isn't hurt, they just elected to not play him in preseason games this year .
Victor only played 37 min of preseason in 2 out of 5 games because Pop probably doesn't want his 7'2 athlete to be exposed to rackless talentless fools that will go with 100% force because they are fighting for contracts.
As for Black and "role". He simply wasn't playmaker as a rookie. Hence, 1,3 apg. Would his role change this year? I belive not by much, because on most nights Black still won't be playing more than 15-18 mpg and during that period lot of times he will share floor with Cole but also with Franz, who was last year bench connector.
Especially now, with Ingles gone, Franz will have even bigger role in keeping bench offense going.
Black looks better than last year, and we all expected that, over past 3 games he showed playmaking flashes but again, context of it matters, majority of min he collected was against fringe nba players and kind a non existing defense. It's good he can take adventage of it, but we won't learn ANYTHING about ANYBODY watching preseason game, especially in situation where 3 best opposing players are out. And for damn sure next time we meet 76ers they won't be led by Ricky Council 4th and Jeff Dowtin junior. ( literally had to google who those bums are, turns out one of them even played 4 games for Magic
) .
We are just 5 days away from real thing!
