Mosley will have very difficult task menaging rotation.

Suggs (30)
KCP (30)
Banchero (35)
Franz (34)
Carter ( 28-30)

Majority of the min will be taken by starters. Isaac/ Moe / will be playing their 15-18 min, and you have Black, Jett, Cole, Harris, Goga compeating for rest. There is Houstan as well but will probably be out of rotation from start.

That's 12 men expecting to play. Unplayable on regular bases without losing cohesion especially because playing for longer streaches without Franz nor Banchero is kind a impossible due lack of ballhandling, passing, playmaking, scoring, shooting

My mid-season depth chart

Suggs/ Black/ Cole
KCP/ Jett
Franz/ Harris
Paolo/ JI/ TDS
WCJ/ Goga/ Moe

I don’t see Corey or Caleb playing. Magic will run a 10 man rotation. After watching preseason, Black and Jett are ahead of TDS. I don’t see us playing Black, Jett, and TDS at the same time unless there are injuries.

8 man playoff rotation
Suggs/ Black
KCP/ Harris
Franz
Paolo/ JI
WCJ

Early in a season i expect Harris to play over Jett and plenty of Franz playing with bench.

Jett-Black-Moe, Isaac- Cole is lineup that probably shouldn't be on the floor too much.

Injuries will happen and it will, as usual, play big role, but should be fun.

Jett has looked much better and is a key we have been missing on offense.

Mosely will have an internal struggle as the season winds down between Harris and Jett. I see a preference for Vet and defense.

Can Jett eliminate the defensive gap and build enough confidence? I still see Harris winning the playoff rotational spot.

Thing is, Jett likes to have a ball and isn't really spot up shooter as much as he is volumen shooter and rythm scorer.
That really doesn't mash well with Franz & Paolo who prefer to keep ball. That's why i assume Gary Harris will play way more than people here can handle

He seems to be killing it on catch and shoot threes.

Perhaps we could see Jett first off the bench at some point to play with the starters some in place of KCP. If his offense is centered around the ball being in his hands initiating while also being a good 3 point shooter maybe he takes some on ball pressure off PB/Franz.

Like wise if KCP plays some with the second unit of AB/Harris/JI/Moe that could be a pretty decent amount of shooters/experience/defense for AB to get some run at point.

Could be an interesting rotation for AB and for Jett

I think i picked 46 or 48 games last year, and that was based off how we played from the end of December in 2022 to when we started tanking. We've won 56% of our non tank games since Dec 5 of 2022, that's a pretty big sample. If that is our floor, thats a 46 win team. We didn't lose anything. The young guys are going to continue to get better. The teams towards the top got better.

So last year i bet the Magic to win the SE. We barely hung on. I fully expect us to win the SE again. Miami is older, just don't see how they have improved, unless Butler somehow finds the fountain of youth. Orlando is -155 to win the SE, lay $155 to win $100.

To me the concern for the Magic is the playmakers. Paolo, Suggs, and Cole all need to do a better job taking a care of the ball. They are going to be asked to do a lot and we can't turn it over so much. Creation is going to be a problem, but our defense is going to cause the same problem for oopnents.

Last year we had a crazy good record against the bad teams. We are going to need to take care of business against them again. The good news is the bad teams should be just as bad if not worse as teams tank for Flagg. Charlotte, might be the outlier, I could see them in the 8th seed.

I'll say 50 wins, but that might be the homer talking. 48 wins is a pretty good team, and the standings should be tight.

If I were to make a bet on the Magic, it would probably be on Paolo or Franz to win the Most Improved award, they are both bet 100 to win 3000, which is down quite a bit from where it opened. If Franz shot 36% from 3, that would have amounted to 1.07 points per game. Improving threes alone is not enough to win that award.

I feel like Paolo is going to make a huge jump either this year or next. If he makes a big jump this year that may change everything above. A big jump to me would look something like 26/7/6 on 58%TS with a decent decrease in turnover %. I am hoping i am low on the assists.

It's either gonna be a year of stalled-out player growth and frustration, which translates to 38-43 wins and Weltman's seat getting warm, or a year of players making leaps (50 wins, playoffs). The safer bet feels like the former.

And-1

Let's assume that the 10-man rotqation will be:

Suggs/Anthony
Caldwell-Pope/Harris
F-Wagner/Black
Banchero/Isaac
Carter/M-Wagner

That means the 3rd stringers are:
Joseph/Howard/Houstan/da Silva/Bitadze

Orlando's has a better 5 of third-stringers than the Wizards' starting five!

I am willing to bet your house the Magic win at least 41 games.

My guess is that it's a 10-man rotation to begin the season...

Starters: Suggs, KCP, Franz, Paolo, Carter
Reserves: Cole, Harris, Black, Isaac, Moritz

Third team: Joseph, Howard, Houstan, Da Silva, Bitadze
