No one responded to this question so i'll post again...
Well Bobcat may be good at breaking stories but he's horrible at analyzing trades.

PS I thought he was going to stop posting on Abraham's blog? Didn't he apologize and say his last post would be last week? Reminds me a lot of Celtic Thug from back in May....

I hate how this guy editorializes and presents it as fact. I think the Tigers made an outstanding deal. They added an elite hitter to a great but aging lineup and are set to win now. And they'll have Cabrera and Granderson to build the offense around when Sheffield, Maggs, and company are retired or declining.

The problem with what the Tigers did is they literally gave away the farm. The prospects they gave up were way too good and way too many. Dontrell Willis could be a total disaster in the American League. They may be able to spin off Willis and Inge and recoup some talent for their system but this is a huge roll of the dice. Obviously it gives them more talent but it doesn't even secure them their division.

As for the Santana thing, I think Andy Pettite's return killed it. Cashman yanked Hughes off the table as soon as he got word. He knows the Sox aren't serious, at least not serious enough to get the deal done, so the chances are better that Santana is on the market next offseason than he isn't right now. There is nothing to really be gained by Santana by getting traded and signing this offseason, besides the injury risk.

He said he was going to stop posting because it was unfair to pete that people were just going crazy waiting for him. Pete responded and said that he is fine with him posting and would rather him stay then leave. So bobcat said ok and is staying.

He may not like the deal because of well dontrelle is a fa in 1 year, miguel in 3 where miguel is in line for 200mil+ and dontrell will get his pay too. Detroit might not be able to keep them and they gave away all of their farm for them. I think the trade is good for detroit now but if they can't resign them then who knows.
