When he sat the first game he missed they said he was dealing with a back issue. I don't like the fact that it's persisted, because back issues can be tricky, especially for a big guy.

But I'm not aware that this is a problem that Olynyk has had before, so hopefully they were just keeping him out as a precautionary measure since he's a veteran and presumably won't need as much time to get into the rhythm of game action.

I read the title as ‘Rogers cuts thread’ and thought this was about Rogers firing Raptors employees and waiving players.

The best way to recover from low back acute episode is controlled exercises + give it time. At least for me. Don't force it.

He'll be this team's Aaron Baynes.

He will set screens, grab boards then come off.

Happy to see Battle stayed, hopefully he can be one of those sneaky pickups Masai used to be good at.

Carlson is getting bodied like a rag doll out there. Fernando does not. The team needs a legitimate big to back up Jakob.

Carlson is not an NBA player. Not sure what some of these guys are watching.

Have said that since day 1.

Agreed. He sucks lol.

Not surprised at all he was cut and Fernando is a much more useful player, and that is NOT saying much!

Unless you're the son of an NBA legend who's still playing, no second round pick is forcing their way anywhere

lol it's literally the opposite. The 2nd rounder has a way easier time dictating on where they get drafted. Shead was demanding guarteed dollars,
Other players refuse 2ways all the time which leads to them sliding or going undrafted.
The Mormon ending up in Utah shouldn't be shocking,

Yeah Fred Van Vleet went undrafted strictly because he was telling teams who weren't giving him a guarantee not to draft him

Yup. I was just about to make the same post.

Because there are no guaranteed contracts, 2nd round picks and their agents can say/ do things to deter teams from picking them..

I think Flip was one of those players. His GF probably wanted him in Utah.......so he angled for Utah.

I hope so..We need young bigs.

He is athletic & long enough to try to see if there is something there. Plus, he makes the 905 more watchable.

Mentioned that due to Gleague rules...it would make sense that he joins 905(maybe a $ thing) but then would not control if another team wants to sign him...Raps couldn't stop it.

But really, Chomche should be getting all the minutes he can handle at C on 905 so Carlson would get what is left

Carlson would be the 7th oldest guy on our team. Older than IQ, Agbaji, and RJ Barrett.

He is not young.
What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.

We had Sharp in for draft workouts. He could end up the next Brown in that he doesn't reach his potential, but 7'5 is freaky tall. We are now in the Wemby era and you need size like that.

Guys like Brown and Tacko Fall failed because they were not mobile enough, but from the video Sharp looks mobile and every inch of 7'5 so he may have a place in the NBA.

Definitely not someone I would call young (25 and counting) but, there's no harm in seeing more of a 7ft guy who can shoot a 3.

always have loved a huge center that blocks everything. They generally are more fun than they are productive, but every 2k team I have ever built I always have a massive center who can do nothing but block shots

He will set illegal screens and get called for it, get outrebounded, turn the ball over a couple times, and then come off.

Glad they kept Battle. Team desperately needs quality bigs... Bruno needs to be cut before Jan all in date...
