As is saying tanking is the only path to win and using a single example (the Thunder) as an example of success while avoiding all the failures.

Good thing no one here is doing that.

Seriously? A large contingent of TWO says that tanking is the only answer.

No, that's what you like to interpret from it. Countless people have mentioned it is the best option for this team at this juncture.

But I guess we can paint an entire group of people with one brush, sure helps with the discourse.

Add to that:

Scase is one of those that are the loudest for tanking. It sometimes makes you really wonder, what the heck people are smoking, before they are posting.

P.s. And even the Thunder as an example is wrong. They got their franchise player through a trade and many of their picks, havent been their own. I may be wrong, but the only high lottery picks (1-8) they picked with their own pick was Chet and Josh Giddey, and the later is already gone (essentially became Caruso). Take away, both Caruso and Chet, and this is still a very good team. In the End, it was more of a rebuilding/retooling than a tank. They used their bad years to develop their players and it only took 2 bad years (2020/2021 and 2021/2022) in which Shai was injuried half of the games.

Most tankers look like the Pistons.

Or...you can look at OKC and see they drafted 3 future MVP's and had them all on the same team...and still never won a championship with them.

So picking high guarantees nothing. Drafting MVP's guarantees nothing.

Start the season with who we have...develop the just drafted guys in the 905, and let's see how the season plays out. Then adjust as the season plays out. Just don't trade futures for short term help.

Yes, and I quoted him directly, since he has said multiple times that tanking for a top 5 pick is a bad idea and has a low chance of success, while also using the Hawks 3% chance at getting the #1 pick as a viable option. Meanwhile, I have never said that tanking is the only solution, feel free to point out the people in the thread saying that.

I'm fine if you want to address people directly doing that and grouping them together, but not making up some boogeyman when no one here has stated that. I'm pointing to literal people who have made literal statements, you're using some sweeping gesture of "TWO".

Maybe not, but you jump down the throats of anyone who suggests a different alternative or who has any desire to do anything other than tank.

So you can tell yourself that you "never said that", but everyone else on here also has the ability to read and recognize when we see your username where you stand. You have made it abundantly clear for 2 years now.
What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.

Yet you consistently invent arguments with a "they", and pretend there are large groups of people (that don't actually exist), when you have and post about fictitious arguments with yourself. Just since we're pointing out "sweeping gestures".
