Re: Kuminga and moody extensions
Moody has security for himself and his family. Anything he makes after this is just a cherry on top. I think it's a smart move. Now he can afford to be greedy on his next contract.

Oh thank God... after only making 17M through his rookie contract it's good to know that with this deal Moses will now finally have enough security for himself and his family.
But yeah good stuff. Enjoy watching Moses, hope he is a long term Dub.

I have to think Moody's side got some assurances from Kerr and the FO that he was actually going to play regularly.
Anyway, good deal, happy he's going to be here for a while as he's still on an upward trajectory despite Kerr's mismanagement. And just seems like the type of solid, reliable, no-drama kind of guy you want around, sort of a shorter Looney from that perspective, except he shoots 3s, which they always need.

Re: Kuminga and moody extensions
I think Moody will be in a 10-man rotation, but Kerr will not use the same rotation every night, at least, to start the season.
Bob Myers, June 7, 2018: "“It’s not in my job description to please NBA fans. It’s to win, end of story. I don’t need to be entertained, I just need to win. That’s all it is. That’s all I was hired to do. Win.”

It could be the oppposite. They might have told him he’s not in the rotation and his agent and him decided to take the bird in the hand rather than risk not playing this season and then no team wanting to give him more than the MLE anyway. He would be one serious injury away from being a Brandon Rush scenario. I guess we’ll see very shortly which path was taken.

He's making more than Hield, KA, etc so if Kerr still doesn't play him more than those guys at least we know it's probably some sort of mental illness

Not this year. We would need to create about 5+ mil in cap space to trade him this year as his incoming trade salary is 11+M

Does this set any bar for a potential Kuminga deal?

I wanted Trey in that draft and would still take him at 4/112 over Moody at 3/39.

Re: Kuminga and moody extensions
The dollar value of all of these NBA contracts is crazy big, and going to get even bigger in the future. Congrats to Moses on grabbing a bag. Not just financial security, but generational wealth. My guess is JK doesn't sign today, but glad to have Moses in the fold for the foreseeable future, unless he's part of a trade package. As said, he's unlikely to be traded this year, as the Dubs would have to take back twice his salary for this season.

Probably, which is why I think a deal is unlikely today.

Pels did well so far securing their wings. Herb jones/and trey for 40 M combined, so roughly the same as what jk is looking for. Bye bye Ingram.
Pels will want nothing to do with jk.

That Herb deal is such a steal. Same with Moody. I think if Kuminga got a Trey or slightly higher deal he will perform at least well enough for it to be tradeable. Could see the front office putting a 5/150 on the table and seeing if Kuminga will risk generational wealth for the hope of a max deal.

Kerr would say "he's not making more this year". Kerr also played guys like Lamb and Jerome so he clearly doesn't give a **** aobut the contract status. If he has the tools he's going to use them. To me it's really on JoeDunKirk to solve the problem by not giving Kerr all the tools he wants. They could trade GPII.

I think the reference was to a ceiling on JK's contract, not a move to NOP. Agree that they've done great in securing their wings to great contracts. Not sure what the motivation for murphy to sign a 4/112 now considering what other wings have gotten. Is he really half the player wagner is?

I'm referring to his attractiveness to other teams, if he can't end up getting regular playing time for Kerr. He is an asset for the Warriors, locked up for several years. Who knows, maybe he will get traded to Utah this summer - Danny Ainge seems to be very interested in Moody.
