After a night of sleep, I still am of the opinion Liberty won in spite of Brondello. Only bad thing of winning the championship is there's no chance she's getting fired.

The offensive set movements between the Liberty and pretty much every other playoff team, but especially the Lynx, are night and day. Saving challenges for nothing, saving timeouts for nothing (Game 4 still pisses me off and there was not calling the rollover timeout near the end of regulation last night), the trying her best to go away from Jones the entire series...

Her big positive this season was rolling out Fiebich, who looks like a championship role player for years to come. Her big positive this series was sticking with Sabally, particularly last night. Other than that, like goddamn she made the team so irritating to watch sometimes.

Yeah I know it's too early to think about next season but I dunno how we're gonna repeat with her at the helm. I just don't like her in game management, she is way too reactive and not proactive. Her time out management is atrocious.

Jones should have been catching the ball every time down the floor. Especially with how horrible Sabrina was.

She gets total credit for sticking with Sabally though. That was a game altering decision. I was stunned at how much she saved our tails

But I will give Brondello credit for the final game substitutions and going with size and defense to stifle the Lynx.

I know people are crying foul about the refs, but they were awful all season long and all series long. They are the lowest paid refs in pro sports and this finals was the biggest and most rowdiest audiences they ever reffed in front of. Of course they're going to be influenced by the rowdy crowds. WNBA needs to get better refs for next playoffs... period.

After Game 4, Sandra Brondello cried about the officiating, leading to a Liberty victory in a Game 5 where NY had a huge FT disparity in our favor.

Anyone who is complaining needs to start here, because to act like the league rigged the series in our favor, especially with how physical both teams played defensively, is a load of crap. The officials just suck and they let a lot go on both sides. I doubt it's a coincidence that both Sabrina and Courtney Williams had their worst performances of the playoffs last night

Fact is, in OT, Minnesota did more to beat themselves than anything the Liberty did.

There was no fix... it was a combination of incompetent refs, coaches complaining before the games, and the rowdy home court crowds cursing the refs. Home court advantage is bigger in the WNBA than other sports right now.

It's the same thing that happened in (iirc) NYK/IND Game 2. If the call has some level of merit they're not going to overturn it to decide a game even if it's one they wouldn't typically call in game flow on review. Especially at home. NYL scored 5 quick ones in OT and Minny couldn't hit. Super close series and a deserved W.
