Worst case scenario he just goes back to what already worked well enough. Nothing to see here.

If Mikal doesn't fix it, then OG gets bumped up to 3rd option, which at least keeps OG happy

I hope he was just trying something new because it's preseason. Changing your shot on a new team that gave up 5 first round picks for you and Has championship aspirations would be a really, really dumb move

He was known as a top shooter in HS. That was his draw for major colleges, not his D.

Didn't we say that about quickly was it last season or 2 seasons ago he started off bad. Grimes last year couldn't hit open 3s all of sudden. This is a common thing. Let's watched 10 regular games b4 judgement

novak also changed his shot and it didnt work, though his release became much quicker

also Grimes... Landry Fields remains the worst case from those who wore our uniforms in the past decade

PS: Carmelo, too... because of his surgeries, but that was more about the lift than the mechanics (though his elbow and knees issues have had an impact also on the shooting motion and body aligment)

I'll worry about this if we get to the point where we're 20-30 games in and he's shooting below 30% or actively turning down jumpers because of it. Until we get to that point, there's just too much track record of him being a good shooter for me to get overly worried/

He could have very well just been trying something out in pre-season and early season to see if it's beneficial. I think y'all just don't handle high expectations well

Hope it's not a Franz Wagner situation, where he went from 36% his first two seasons down to 28% last season.

If his shot is broken we're screwed.

He has started slowly before with his % and he has started hot with his % sometimes, too...bottom line is his career % is still really good with however he starts, you people are always seeking for a reason to be triggered about something.
If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right
...you are a fan of your opinion not the team.

Even in that example though, Franz came into the league with one of his question marks being shooting. He shot 32% from 3 over 2 seasons at Michigan. So it was kind of surprise that he came out the gates as a good shooter in the NBA. It's more understandable that Franz would regress at some point. Maybe not to that 28% extreme but nonetheless still not as shocking or improbable as it would be for Mikal to just all of a sudden to have a broken jumpshot after being a 40% shooter in college and 37.5% in 6 seasons in the NBA.

Even then as long as it's not a Ben Simmons situation where he's actively scared to shoot, teams are still going to treat Mikal like a shooter. It would take a yips type situation for Mikal to all of a sudden become a non-shooter. That would be just our luck though wouldn't it :noway:
