After LaMelo & Miller, Mann has the potential to evolve into our 3rd best player. A team with Miles Bridges as 4th best plus Mark Williams, looks like a playoff team.

Agree as long as Miles is committed to rebounding. His work on offense is good, but defense and boards are critical to his and the team’s success. He plays an undersized 4 so some disadvantaged matchups against bigger players can be a factor.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

I actually think the deal should be more favorable to us then expected the more I look.

16-18 - Monk, Sexton
12-15 - Clarkson, Schroeder, Moody
10-12- Isiah Joe, Coby White, Donte Div, Aaron Nesmith, McConnel
7-10 - Aaron Wiggins, Caleb Martin, Max Christie, Payton Pritchard

3/27 makes a lot of sense for Mann.

Well Micic seems spot on in his assessment of Mann

I think what Miles gives up on the boards he makes up for with his playmaking. He's averaged 20 PPG and hit threes at 40%. He can create for himself, bully his way to the rim, and create for others. He's pretty well-rounded as a 4th option. Not too many playoff teams have a better 4th option. But his defense does cost.

It doesn't look like the Hornets are going to get an extension done with Tre mann. This is about the fifth off season in a row we failed to sign one of our rookie contract guys to an early extension. He'll be a restricted next off season. Good chance we can still keep him on a decent deal but it would have been nice to have gone ahead and locked him up on a reasonable contract.

F Corey Kispert has agreed to a four-year, $54 million contract extension,
G Jalen Suggs reaching agreement on a five-year, $150.5 million rookie extension:

Wondering whether the coast is clear on extensions or if maybe one for Mann is still making it's way through the media pipeline.

ETA: just saw this, looks like no deal

this team just refuses to get early extensions done . oh well. more summer drama. doubt he'll get big offers next summer. scoring combos are still dime a dozen. assume he'll resign in summer.

I mean I'm sure the FO would've loved to sign him on a cheap deal, but if I'm his agent I'd tell him the play this year without. He has very little proven now and it makes sense to prove it.

Yeah, I get not overpaying too soon, and perhaps Mann’s agent pushed for too much. But Mann is in that sort of ‘in-between” zone of tantalizing but not prime yet. He could also be betting on himself which is all good. Just hope he remains committed to being a Hornet if he balls out.

Did you see the deals that did happen? Nobody was signing for a "discount".

If he would have signed for 8-9 per year then yeah get it done, but if he wanted Moody money then there really is no point.

Much more likely he underperforms a 13 mill per year deal then is so good it is some awesome value moving forward.

i read a report somewhere that Miller and Ball, (probably Salmon as well now), are the only untouchables on this team.
They want to build around those 2 and are seeing how things shake out. I guess they want Mann to prove he's going to be that guy to help the team

Dudes going to get paid. Good for him for betting on himself.
