Vinnie Johnson buying the Palace?

Post#1 » by Uncle Mxy » Tue Oct 22, 2024 4:15 pm

Not exactly, but it becoming a Piston Automotive facility feels like keeping it in the family.

Detroit Pistons owner Tom Gores and Schostak Brothers & Co. announced in 2019 the formation of a joint venture to redevelop the former Palace site and surrounding land.

A key focus was transitioning the property in a way that would benefit Auburn Hills, Oakland County, and the surrounding area long term.

The 715,000-square-foot site along I-75 will be operated by Piston Automotive (owned by former Bad Boys member Vinnie Johnson, the nation’s largest minority-owned automotive supplier.

Vinny has done quite well for himself since retiring.

Loved The Microwave during their run. Great person as well. I remember that one game when Dumars was out during the regular season and Vinnie went head to head with Jordan scoring 28 points. That was epic.
