I still miss that station, doubt it ever comes back to the glory days. I tune in to 97.3 from time to time and just can't do it for more than 30 minutes or so... other than Tim Allen.

The thing I respected about the old WSSP (and hopefully this new version) is that they kept it on a tight program wheel for sports. Whenever I turn to 97.3 or 94.5 they’re all over the place. No focus. “Hey, did you hear that Armen tried Chinese food for the first time last night? Hey that reminds me KB, did you get a free case of beer with those new windows you had installed”

Uhh, think you might be wishing it was like that but 1250 did plenty of the random BS conversations too.

They did, but they kept topics on a program wheel. I.e. they’d tease the topic and then spend 20 minutes going into it, then move the next topic they promised.

And they’d talk Bucks. The only station that would.

Yea, I haven’t listened to any local sports radio since 1250 was destroyed. It was always good background noise.

Not to the level 97.3 does.

Incredible. Dude has never said an interesting or insightful thing in his entire ESPN tenure.

Pretty much guarantees I won't watch any of those shows. Just don't put him on game telecasts.

Same. I don't watch any of those shows. All I watch on ESPN are games.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I wonder what this means from a technical standpoint. My Ballys app quit on me, no lie, 20 times during last night's game.

It's probably just a name change. Just like when it went from Fox Sports to Bally's. FanDuel is ponying up some cash but I think that's going to be it. FanDuel isn't buying them (or it would be part of the bankruptcy).

I'm at a loss on ESPN hiring decisions. Think most of the crew they have covering the NBA for broadcasts are terrible.

I like Windhorst because he actually breaks news. Legler has grown into a pretty good analyst. The rest just shout hot takes.

Considering the Cavs a lock over 48.5 is crazy. Team was 12-17 post All-Star Break. 6-5 with Mitchell playing. Should have lost to the Magic in the 1st round; non-competitive vs the Celtics. What am I missing?

Bill Simmons went from talking about how terrified of Giannis he was in the 2022 ECSF to completely dismissing him 2.5 years later. I have no idea why somebody within the Bucks organization must have offended him with how he dismisses Giannis and additionally the Bucks as a team so coldly.

Their record last year was also severely buoyed by that 17-2 stretch from Jan to the ASB, where like played like 3 legit teams.

He was talking about how the Bucks were the only EC team who worries him less than 3 months ago. None of this **** means anything.

I felt desperate for Bucks content, and given how rough LOB has become when Frank isn't there, I threw on some of the Ringer Group Chat's season preview stuff.

Whoops.

I was treated to Wos rambling for 5 minutes about how Giannis isn't a good leader, is an awkward communicator, etc, because of his "everyone could get traded, even me" soundbyte. Wos is a brutal listen in the best of times, but is it too much to ask that your basketball commentators actually pay attention to basketball?

I have to figure the LOB listenership goes up 5x if they say Frank is on. Nothing against the other two, they’re good people, but they are just not entertaining. And Garcia is an employee of the team, so he’s really got to be compromised in what he might want to say.

Yep, I’ve learned to stay away from Group Chat.
