Warriors Expressed Interest In Karl-Anthony Towns Trade With Wolves

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Tue Oct 22, 2024 7:44 pm

The Golden State Warriors discussed a trade with the Minnesota Timberwolves for Karl-Anthony Towns this past offseason before he was eventually dealt to the New York Knicks, sources tell Anthony Slater of The Athletic.

The Wolves, however, were targeting a specific package type from the Knicks that the Warriors didn't possess. Talks between the two teams didn't progress.

The Warriors were also linked to Paul George and Lauri Markkanen this past offseason. Without any executable major trades, the Warriors are hoping their additions of Buddy Hield, Kyle Anderson and De'Anthony Melton will help bolster their playoff chances.

We were gonna have Towns and Lauri and PG but they didn’t want to play nice.

- Draymond, probably.

I’m sure Gobert would have loved having Draymond as a teammate.

Wolves like Julius Randle more than Jonathan Kuminga.

Funny! But Draymond was not gonna be part of any trade.

Mostly because MIN would have zero interest.

“Ok Tim Connelly, Towns makes $49 mil, so we need to match salary. Who would MIN fans want more? Draymond or Wiggins? Btw, your address isn’t public knowledge, right?”

MIN might prefer someone else - IDK about two non-shooters in the frontcourt - but MOSTLY because no way does Steph Curry and Steve Kerr let Draymond get traded away.

More interesting to me is the Warriors no doubt would have made Jonathan Kuminga available and MIN preferred Julius Randle.

Survey playoff GMs and see how many of them would prefer Julius Randle to Draymond Green though...

Hey, we've got a damn fool player who thinks he's worth the max and we'd like to get rid of him. Y'all interested in Special K? He's touched in the head.

First off, why the quotes? Are you quoting yourself?

Second, why does an offer that Tim Connelly turned down need to make sense to Tim Connelly... he turned it down. My guess is that he would have zero interest in Wiggins or Draymond. But a pairing of Draymond and Gobert makes no sense, on or off the court. ZERO! You can quote me on that.

Third... my address? I don't know what you're talking about but you need to think before you type.
