I didn't think his Eason-Whitmore-Brooks deals would be of any interest to the Bucks.

Not going to list them but myself, Reasonably sober, PP, and others posted several legal deals that the Bucks would absolutely consider and the other team would likely not accept considering Middleton's health.

The Bucks would have to consider that offer and given Middleton's health the Rockets would have to decline.

Ron Swanson wrote:The problem with trading Brook or Khris now that we're past the offseason is that dealing either would probably require additional roster tinkering beyond that singular move. That's why most decent proposals would have been done before the draft when they had an incomplete roster and two additional pick assets to work with. Even a Bobby trade might be a tight needle to thread given that you're limited to salaries under $12.5 million, plus the whole "who's your backup big then?" dilemma. The 2nd apron restrictions are real.
I do like the smaller moves, like MarJon for surplus Portland big Portlandwouldnotbeinterestedinthat

Bobby might be the most likely to be dealt but in contrast to Brook and Khris he’s squarely in his prime.
Relatedly Bobby is the only one who will need a raise next season. There’s a big difference especially in the 2nd apron era if we see him as the heir apparent to Brook vs if we’d want a different kind of big in the starting lineup.
Either way I don’t see us trading Portis for anything but a clear upgrade at this point. That’s especially if we’re trying to persuade GTJ to give up a ton of money like Bobby did to stay here long term.

Bobby's value is lower now that he's due for a payday, and we did nothing to bolster our frontcourt depth. Plus we're hogtied by 2nd apron restrictions. Might be best to just extend him and hope he has value this summer.

A half decent trade at this point would be for anyone that is healthy.

You mean like Middleton for Giddey? The Middleton proposals were all bad. Can't trade a playoff assasin for a playoff choker.

The entire focus should be on dumping the overpriced vet that is a massive playoff liability. Brook needs to go, too bad Horst gave him that horrific contract.

Brook is a perennial DPOY candidate and costs a fraction of KM. That's clear to anyone that's objective and not a relative or close friend.

I don't care about regular season awards. The Bucks defense against the Pacers in the playoffs was 20 points/100 better when Brook sat. He gets absolutely cooked in the playoffs by floor stretching centers, and every contender has one.
Also, he doesn't cost a fraction of Middleton, Brook was paid $25 million last year, and he was not in any conversation for DPOY last year.

Yea, he was bad against the Pacers last year. Everyone was.
vs other teams in the East:
Philly: +34.2
Boston +12.0
Miami +12.0
NYK: +9.0
Orlando +3.0
Cleveland -11.5
Unless we're getting another huge seven foot rim protector who also spaces the floor, we're not trading Brook.

You're not getting peak value for Middleton at this point, so the only questions that really matter in regards to Middleton trades would be the following:
1) Who's the worst player you'd trade Khris for?
2) What's the best young player Khris + the 2031 1st gets you?
3) Is either worth it?
I'll start in order:
- Cam Johnson or Jerami Grant
- Jaden McDaniels
- .....get back to me in January

Re: Bucks News, Trade Ideas, Transactions - Shockingly, Middleton to Miss Opener
When you think of trades, consider how Boston's team was crafted. Every position has a shooter. Jrue is probably the worst of the starters and he's good. Off the bench, they bring in Pritchard and Houser, neither one of whom will make an all defensive team or can do much else, except shoot.
So trading Middleton or Portis makes no sense. Both Middleton and Portis can get their own shot when the clock is running down, a skillset that is not easily available. Portis isn't going anywhere unless some team gives the Bucks draft choices and a player that can help win a championship now. The Bucks love Portis and Middleton, unlike much of this board.

Brook has been in the top 10 in DPOY voting twice in 16 seasons. It's literally more accurate to say Middleton's a perennial all-star.

I’m looking forward to watching Trent, I guess. Boy does it feel like our top 6 has been the same guys for like five years.

My knee-jerk reaction was to be like, BUT WHUHBOUT THE DAME TRADE. Yet the top 7 in regular season minutes the year we won the title were Khris, Giannis, Jrue, Brook, Donte, Pat, Bobby. It's pretty crazy to still have 5 of those guys in our rotation, now 4 seasons later.
