DJAtomatic >>> Zimmer. Go Suns! Lol.
Some years ago I saw a Hans Zimmer's concert in Budapest and it was amazing. At one point I was so immersed in a particular song that when that song ended I realized that I was crying, true story.

Looks like a great line up if all our elements perform
I think our ceiling is top 2 seed with OKC
What does your WC look like?
It's interesting this season with OKC being the only team in the West that (imo) clearly got better with the addition of Caruso and should be a lock for the #1 seed. All the other playoff teams from last season either took a step back or is about the same. I think there could be 4-5 teams that could be vying for the 2nd seed. I have Dallas, Denver, Minny, us and potentially Memphis as a dark horse.
I don't know if I'd call Memphis a dark horse. They were the 2 seed behind Denver 2 years ago and their whole team was injured last year. Adams had been injured then traded, but then Ja was out, then Smart, Bane, Clarke, etc.
Then they got national player of the year Edey. So they will be drastically improved simply due to health, plus some younger guys got more run last year and looked good like GG Jackson.
They feel like the biggest competition right now. They were 2 games behind Denver 2 years ago when Denver won it, but Ja got injured in the playoffs. But since then, they've gotten better and Denver's gotten worse. The Wolves are worse without Towns.
Dallas could be better though, with Klay, and Lively continuing to get better. To have Luka, Kyrie, Klay and then a big rotation of Gafford/Lively, that's pretty tough. Of course they got PJ Washington last year too, and have Dinwiddie as 6th man.
I think the type of team that could be a dark horse, not to be a top seed, but to compete to get out of the play in game, it would be someone like Houston.
But it will be tough given the teams we've named and a lot of people have the Kings ranked high too. And you have the Pelicans. And Lakers.

I hope Booker signs his name on their wall after handing the Clips their first L in their new building.

I call them the dark horse because no one is really talking about them and I just need to see them put 10-15 games together and looking good to take that dark horse label off them. They haven't been been relevant in 2 years and they need to prove they still have the magic. They should still have the tools but the NBA and the WC has changed a fair bit since and there's far more tough outs than ever.

Interesting..in the last Lowe Post I listened to, Zach Lowe picked Memphis as top 4. In that countdown of voting of WC seeds, Memphis and Phoenix I think were vying for 4/5 spots.
I usually pick Memphis high. I was wrong last year but their whole team was pretty much injured. Ultimately it's hard to know. Tyus Jones was good for them to have when Ja was out...and in general. I know they got Marcus Smart, and I wasn't sure how it looked, but I think they onliy played a couple games together. Ultimately both were out. But their D should be pretty strong with JJJ, Smart, Clark, Bane, etc. I guess I don't know how well Edey will defend but he's like 7'4 and blocks shots. He will at least be a presence and an interior scoring threat on offense.

I dont know that Memphis bouncing right back to the top of the conference is such a sure thing. Possible of course, but this isnt 2K where things just automatically fit right back in perfectly

Wasn't really thinking of them as a play-in tier team, I certainly think they have more talent than that and I've heard playoff team projection for them as well. With respect to the relative flatness to the WC competitive landscape, just being a step better could than others would put you in the #2 spot but I don't really see any particular team (before the season starts) standing out as being that one step better.

Memphis don't have the same bench that made them great, I like New Orleans as 6th seed.

I expect some Point Beal and Center Durant.
That would open up an extra 10 mins for Dunn and O'Neale to impact wing defense, just need their 3s to be reliable.

Also seems like shorter rests 3-4 minutes and more stagger combinations is a trend after starters minutes.

I just dont love the KD center minutes. The defense is only average and whenever they do get an initial stop they NEVER get the rebound.

KD at the 5 minutes is almost never about the defense, it's about all out offense.

Beal, Booker, Allen, O'Neale, Durant for a scoring burst
Zubac has no-one to defend so they play Batum or Jones at C?

I mean yeah, but can the offense be so good it overcomes giving up like 120 pts/100? I know they had that one Sacramento game where they had that crazy comeback but otherwise it was not great.
