In a draft like this, well you have 7th, and since the MU team has made some misses lately it would be huge for this FO. Curry went 7th you never know. It would mean they put the team in a good position to get into the top 4 also. DD went 9th that year. 9 has had some nice draft selections over the years. That was a damn good draft. Jrue Holiday went #17. Blake Griffin, and Harden. Raptors legends James Johnson, Tyler Hansbrough, DeMarre Carroll. Teague and Lawson. Patrick **** Beverly. Patty Mills, Rick Rubio, Brandon Jennings, Gerald Henderson and more. That's one of the better draft years right there.

edit: I missed Danny Green at 46th overall. I had to sign back in to fix that omission.

I remember we won some meaningless games in the last 10 games or so that year. We could have drafted higher and gotten curry, imagine that.

It's best not to look back on the Raptors of yester-year, you'll give yourself an ulcer. I found myself looking that the end of season roster in 1998 the other day. Here's what it was:

Chauncey Billups
Alvin Williams
Damon Stoudamire
TMac
Camby

and we drafted Vince that off-season. Everyone was 24 and under. Just horrendous management to let that slip away.

2 things. Damon was traded for Alvin and RFA didn’t exist yet so they basically two years to make a decision on a player and we saw TMac walk for nothing just a couple of years later.

How many 1st option scorers are in the top 5?

I think Bailey and Harper are both 1st option based on the limited videos I seen. Who else?

It's tough to even predict who would be a first option. Look at the top 15 scorers in the NBA last year. I think maybe a little over a 3rd were first options on their previous team. Because of the nature of one and done's dominating the top of the draft, it's hard to tell the more important factor like how quickly can someone add skill.

There's a couple pure scorers in the top 8ish projected spots. But I think the only one that you could "guarantee" would be Bailey. There are guys like Edgecombe and Tre Johnson who could be, but not a lot of them.

Any significant injuries will help the tank and increasing Raps odds at a top 5 pick a lot. This could be a pivotal season.

I will still wait until a couple of months to see which guys die down, and look at the impact stats of the guys that are doing well. The skill level displayed at a lower lever can be really deceiving, is all I'm saying. Raptor fans should know what DeMar looked like at USC, and what Kawhi looked like at SD State.

Absolutely, I don't think any real projections can be made before these guys play an NCAA game, but you can usually identify the guys who have the mind/skill set. Whether or not they can put it together on a court, we shall see.

really set the tone for the season. The excitment didn't even last for 1 quarter and the hope has crumbled.

knowing masai we'd be bottom 3 by the all star break. Then the team will win a bunch of games and we'd end the season with the 8th pick.

maluach seems to be really raw but you never know if scheyer will make him start to look like a more competent hooper by the end of the year

competent enough for masai to be swayed by his sick fantasy of turning maluach into a global superstar
