It’s just one game, but the real issue is still with the starting lineup. Rozier and Herro don’t complement each other, it feels like watching the same player twice.

Butler is cruising as usual.

You can’t blame Bam for this one; the Magic's length really gave him trouble.

I just want to see Burks, Larsson, and Ware get meaningful minutes this season.

the first 1/2 I was thinking its nice to be close but I hate that we played the same guys seemingly all 1/2. Then the second 1/2 started and the same guys were on the court, this time gassed. Sorry but there was no reason to play the starting 5 20 minutes wearing them out. That line should have been pulled long long before it was then when a sub came it was only 1 or 2 guys and you still have 3 or 4 tired legs still getting blown out. WTH happened in prep for this game, nobody had it tonight. time to back off whatever we think we are doing because its not helping.

I'm sorry, but why can't we blame Bam? I've heard non-stop how he's the best center in the league or whatever title we want to bestow on him, so if all it takes to bother him is length then did we get scammed?

Seriously though, Bam & Butler need to come out next game and make a statement. Kinda expect this from Butler, but Bam was a surprise though.

As much as Bam has improved offensively, the eye test has unfortunately shown time and time again that he just doesn't have 'it' offensively to be a bonafide 1A or 1B scorer, and may not even have it to consistently be a 2nd option scoring wise on a championship team.

He's more of a physical specimen than Paolo.B but doesn't have his body control or handling, and hence can't really leverage his frame on offense as effectively. When he's struggling, he really struggles to break out of the funk and misses easy gimmicks in the process. He lacks a soft touch around the rim.

He has a good release and a great shooting foundation, but he just isn't a gifted natural shooter (i.e. Bosh).

I’m not even a little surprised. Bring back the same team, lose key guys, give massive raises to role players like Highsmiths, sprinkle in a few rookies you’re never gonna play. Puts us squarely where we have always been, play in territory hoping for another “miracle run”.

Sure sure it’s one game, the first game w.e. Realize other teams have massively improved and we have done NOTHING. Unprotected first round pick to get off the Lowry contract, a tax saving move. To bring in a guy, Scary, that everytime I look at the box score he is 5-15 or worse. Inefficient, overpaid, undersized, scrub

You obviously don’t trade your star player after a finals run, but I really thought that we should have traded him then. We simply were not good enough, but his value was sky high. Trading him at that point would have super fast tracked a rebuild.

Im not a moderator but if it were me, anyone that mentions again that Jimmy Butler needs to be extended should be banned moving forward..

I dont care if its just the first game of the season. 3 points for the amount he is making, is pathetic. His effort was terrible. Hes trying to make a point but he made the wrong point today with me. I wish we could trade his ass right now for an expiring, but itll be near impossible with his salary.

Hes got 1 year left (which is this uear) and a player option. Im assuming hes going to pick up that option because no team in the league will give him money at 37 that will be remotely close than that 52 million.

Which means we will have a 52 million expiring for the 25/26 season.

If you guys want to add a legitimate star next to Bam, we have to offload all these terrible contracts. We need to go 2008 and start planning for the 2026 offseason and it starts NOW. Do not add anymore contracts that go beyond 2025-26 season as that is when Butler, Rozier ends. Find a way to move Herro for expirings as his contract goes one more season beyond 25-26.

With that cap space, assuming we keep JJJ and Ware.. and we dont add a single dollar, we should have enough to bring in a star via free agency and play with Bam.
