There are maybe a dozen guys in the entire league who would be off limits in a Giannis trade and Jalen Green sure as s*** isn’t one of them

I think maybe he is using untouchable in the opposite way here. Like the Bucks wouldn't want to touch that contract. That is how I read it first.

I read it as /s or sarcasm and that he was referencing AJ Green, as he was a Bucks fan, and AJ Green is listed as outgoing from the Bucks.

Finally someone hit on the right Green

Bidding only starts when Giannis ask out. (Either privately or publicly).

Probably cost more than this even publicly .

The Rockets definitely have the pieces to contend for getting Giannis if he comes available. Smith, Reed, Thompson, Whitmore, Eason, picks - there's some combination there that might be the best offer in the league.

Other teams that could offer comparable packages and make sense:

OKC: Holmgren/Williams plus a boatload of picks. Giannis would be happy to play with a fellow MVP level guy in Shai.
Utah: a huge pile of picks (doubt Giannis would want to go there though)
Brooklyn: a huge pile of picks, including Milwaukee's own 2025 if it's a top 4 pick - unlikely; attractive market
New Orleans: Zion + picks (including Milwaukee's own 2027 pick)

Yeah, if Giannis really came to market, I’m sure Houston would try and keep one of Reed Sheppard or Jabari Smith, but end up willing to package them together with their best “soon pick” and best “far out pick” and send matching salary to Milwaukee and nab Giannis.

But, because of the difficulty of salary matching, apron rules, etc, I imagine any Giannis swap would happen in the offseason for the expanded roster sizes and whatnot.

If the Bucks tear it down, it's everyone else who'll get moved. Giannis still has too many prime years left under contract to consider dealing him.

Milwaukee owes picks/swaps through 2030. No rebuild opportunity. No significant talent to deal besides GA.
Gotta ride it out.

Dame 100% could be moved, he'd look better as a #1 option. He'd probably put 30ppg if he was in Miami.

Dame could be moved but limited value. He is 34 with injury history. Bucks sent a first, two swaps, and Jrue. Jrue was dealt for two firsts and usable d mediocre filler. Two years have passed.
Not many “win now” teams have picks or prospects to offer. (Win now due to his age)
Orlando and Detroit aren’t ready and see no one else in the east. NO, Dallas and Sacramento are maybe. Sac could send Fox, Huerter, 2 firsts2027/2029 and some swaps. Dallas could send 2025 first, 2026 swap, Kyrie, Lively and Grimes.
That’s about all those two have.
NO has picks and prospects. Some combo of Lillard, Portis and BLo could bring back something but NO has to know the limits from other teams.

Bucks trade Giannis/Green
Rockets trade Smith/Adams/Jeff Green/Landale/Eason

Rockets go fall in to win.
Bucks rebuild on the fly.

Next step is to find a home for Lillard and Lopez. What can be received for those 2?

wtf is this nonsense?
still learning the game

The Rockets would have start with almost all of their picks on the table to start the discussion. Then, they'd have to figure which players they could retain to play with and compliment Giannis, not the other way around.

Maybe something like Sengun, Sheppard, Thompson and 3 unprotected firsts can win a bidding war? Admittedly I am lower on Thompson than some others. I feel like some could view this as an overpay and others would view it as insulting to the Bucks (If they don't believe in Thompson AND Sengun)

Sengun and a ton of picks seems like a good offer. Keep the young guys as much as you can by sending picks and one premium guy. Love Sengun but he and Giannis don't seem to make much sense together
This is assuming Jalen keeps playing well which is a bit of a shaky premise lol
