This seems to be coming from Finch, if I had to guess. All offseason, we've heard about how we didn't shoot enough 3-pointers. We averaged under 33 attempts per game, 23rd in the league. This year, we've shot 91 3s through two games. We traded a hesitant Towns for two of the more willing triggers in the league.

Need more crisp defensive rotation. There were possession where no one rotate to Gobert's man. Gobert seem indecisive about when to double team. He needs to log more block shots. Minott should get Ingles' minutes. The only reason Ingles is on the floor is to play with Gobert.

Ant going downhill in five out situations is unstoppable. There is no need to play Ingles with second unit when Gobert is not playing. Free Minott.

Good win. Except the first quarter we play well , défense was there and we win despite missing a lot of shots! Nothing to worry, DDV Mike and Jaden will shoot better soon.

Love also Randle effort. His défense is not good so we will need time to adjust but if he improve on this part we will get better.

every year there is a lineup quirk that doesn't make much sense to fans
last season it was how much KA would play with Gobert rather than Naz/KAT

this year i'll predict Ingles not playing with Gobert will be it

Fan like us like to find something to complain about! Tonight was better than first , we fight . We still have players struggling at some part , Randle in défense , Mike DDV at shooting but he will change and once it is, we may be damm good! Still lot of work to do but tonight was encouraging.

Tough win in the end.
Hopefully Finch can figure out the lineups soon.
Don't like the rookies sitting on the pine though

I don't get Finch showing zero faith in the young players.

The level of physicality when Gobert battles Sabonis is insane. Not sure if someone like Walker Kessler would help here, but I hope TC will address this issue in future

I get it. for me Finch is right. Team is not well established yet and we have some issues to deal with ( defense, new player integration, ...). Throwing young players when we struggle at some parts is not giving them a hand. I am totally convinced that RD, Minott, Garza will play soon once the most important players are at their usual level and chemistry is better. Or when we have a comfortable lead at some games. It will happen, i hope soon.

You can start to see the plan.

Finch can go through Randle initially and preserve Ant more for when we need him most—crunch time.

Worked like a charm last night.

I love that we saw the death lineup in the meat of Q4 before O/D substitutions were started:

Ant
DDV
Foul Machine McD
Julius
Naz Reid

Finch probably wants to get the season rolling correctly before giving the young guys playing time. Easier to integrate then into a winning system than to expect them to help set that winning system. But by game 20 Minott should definitely be playing over Ingles.

West is going to be super competitive again..there are just no gimme games...Blazers are probably the only tanking team, Jazz maybe semi-tanking but every other team is gonna be competitive..even Spurs, assuming Wemby takes a leap

Agreed. Its pretty clear than Randle and Donte are still trying to figure out the offensive and defensive systems. Finch is going to play them as much as he can with the guys that have been here to jumpstart that chemistry.

I expect Minott will start being sprinkled in sooner than later.

I'm not sure how much room there is for Dillingham in the rotation unless Conley is resting or hurt. They could get Minott and/or Garza in there.

A forgotten part of the Randle trade is how it affects Rob. Before the trade we were going to need Rob because he's the only other one on the team who could honestly break down a defense, get them rotating and create. Randle can do it, even if hes inefficient at times. With Randle they can let Rob get stronger and grasp the offense and defense before throwing him out. I think he'll end up playing real minutes but I wouldn't be surprised if that doesn't happen for the first couple months. Then as this year gets long they can rest Mike more.
