There’s expectations for him now and he hasn’t improved by leaps and bounds to justify the hype. His skill set limits his ability to really be that superstar

The problem you're thinking of is you are comparing 2 players at vastly different ages, we all know he's not a superstar now, but don't get it twisted Barnes is 23 years old, Siakam was around 27.

The real question is how good is Barnes when he's 26.

There's obviously no guarantees, but Barnes sheer strength + wingspan gives him a higher ceiling than Siakam.

The need to trade Siakam was simply an age issue.
