Jett should not be playing over KCP. Sorry. He was way too important on defense the first two games and he isn't going to shoot sub 30%.
Jett taking Cole's minutes can happen, although it would mean he might have to guard 1s or something if Black is guarding threes but playing as the 1, since Gary will still play.

Make no mistake, I’m not calling for Jett to play over KCP. I would just like to see Jett play with Paolo and Franz on the court.

Jett is not a microwave scorer though he is basically a spot up or set shooter. He really doesn’t create.
I feel like people are blowing up what he did in the last few against 3rd string players. He really didn’t do much in 2nd qt while playing the 2nd string.

We needed Suggs and he showed. I do not know why, but KCP's 3s are not falling.
I agree, Magic's 3s are improved and we took more 3pt FGA even. But when it is time for someone to step up and add to the scoring load, we didn't show up. The 19-0 run was phenomenal. But when it was a different game in the 4th, Huff killed the game.
Lots to digest especially how Magic started the game.
Paolo was not himself. We need him. Yes, it was disappointing. But just take a breath, at least it is over...

You spelled KCP wrong.
I do wonder what the offense would look like with Jett in the starting lineup over KCP…. Or even with Jett getting minutes with the starters so that he can get some looks off of Paolo’s gravity.
Especially right now that Gary "Street clothes" Harris is injured, sub KCP out if he's not scoring and throw Jett in there with the first team

I’ve almost seen enough from AB to believe he should be starting next to Suggs. Almost.

I second this motion, need more spacing out there with players that can actually HIT shotsthelead wrote:SOUL wrote:Jett should not be playing over KCP. Sorry. He was way too important on defense the first two games and he isn't going to shoot sub 30%.

Why didn't he do much is the question, I'm sure it didn't have anything to do with Cole shenanigans turning the ball over and dominating the ballRainwater wrote:Bensational wrote:Jett’s gonna take Cole’s spot as microwave scorer off the bench real soon.

He does create, he did it in the summer league, yeah the competition was lower but he's only gonna get better, plus Cole is only getting worse.

He can create, he’s just not asked to do so when playing with 4 other dudes ahead of him in the offensive pecking order - and even then, when used correctly he can go off like he did in preseason. He’s already a microwave scorer as a shooter who can get his shot off quickly and with a hand in his face. Give him Cole’s minutes and he’ll show more on-ball creation.
Cole isn’t a microwave scorer either at this point because he can’t get a shot off and when he does it’s a miss.

I dunno what the answer is for tonight. IMO the loss was mostly on this stat:
Points in the paint:
Memphis: 62pts
Orlando: 34pts
Our wings and bigs are just weak in the paint. On both ends.

I don’t doubt Jett can hit shots.
That’s not the reason he isn’t on the floor right now.
The question with him is defense. Mosely will never play him over guys like Suggs, KCP, or Gary if he doesn’t believe he can be as good defensively if he can avoid it.

Paolo has got to be better bottom line, Franz is stepping up.... Suggs has been OK could be better but it's still early....dell has been more or less the same but he's showing better effort on the glass.... KCP..... KCP..... Defense has been really good however.... We need you to hit some shots man, can't have you airballing out there

Feel like every loss/entire offseason we debate like a bench guy replacing another bench guy and sure, but the reality is your entire starting unit cannot shoot under 50% and have 14 turnovers. Still going as far as Paolo/Franz/Suggs take us and the rest step up when needed right now.

I don’t think PG play has been the issue. And despite his issues Paolo has been breaking down the defense and finding people.

I agree that’s what has held him out of minutes so far, but that can’t be an ongoing reason if we’re happy to play Cole and Moe and accept their turnstile defenses.

KCP will go down as one of the worst additions to this franchise, ever. I have no problem saying it. I said this when we signed him, so I'm not just saying it because he has been invisible his first three games here. Decent defense is useful, but not when your offense is laughable. He won't continue to shoot as poorly, but that's hardly saying something considering half the fans in the stands could shoot better than he is right now.
In reality KCP is a perfect reflection of what the NBA has become, incredibly average players being paid as if they're core pieces on a championship roster. 15-20 years ago he'd be making 1-2m tops, over 20 is literally insane for what he brings to the table.

True.
I think it’s just significantly more difficult to take minutes from those guys considering their standing on the roster.
Jett will just have an insurmountably more difficult task because of the roster logjam at that position after signing KCP and Gary. AB can defend 1-3 and Mosely will find “creative” ways of incorporating him otherwise.
Cole and Moe just live and die by their offense. Cole hasn’t been good enough offensively to justify it though.

Those were some of the worse turnovers I've seen in a long time, felt like everyone was missing the passes up and bad.

20 mil isn't that much nowadays. It's just numbers you have to get used to.
He helped shut down Butler G1 even though he didn't shoot well, played well on both sides G2, was bad just like most of our starters were besides Suggs/Franz for some moments G3.
Just refuse to believe a guy both Lakers/Nuggets fans revered on their championship team is bad/should be replaced by a 3rd stringer from their first three games. I think yes, ultimately he would be a weapon off the bench if AB continues his trajectory, but massive orreaction imo.
