NBA League Pass, any insights
Considering NBA League Pass. I have Rogers ignite but it's only offered as part of a Super Sports Pack at $35 extra per month. Seems excessive. Anyone have experience with League Pass ? I hoped I could get it separately, NBA only, but guess not
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

Re: NBA League Pass, any insights
I watched them after the game is over (due to blackout), and enjoy doing it (since I am usually outside, not able to make it on time to watch).
No commercial, I skipped (fast forward) free throws.
So after the game ends (plus 15 mins or so), it took me around 2 hours to finish the game (instead of 3 watching TV).

Re: NBA League Pass, any insights
I have it because I live abroad and don’t want to mess with streams, especially if I want to watch on my living room TV.
That said, the product is pretty bad. Especially the app for Google TV. Buffering (especially late in games), starting pre-warmups when you want live, bad seeking options. Prime example of enshittification, where everything is just worse (but still more expensive) than 5-10 years ago.

You're not going to be able to watch live Raptors games if you're in Canada. The NBA has locked down the use of VPNs.
I looked into the option it as well.

FanDuel had a bet $5 get free league pass for 3 months.
I can PM you a website if you're willing to watch on a computer with a good adblocker if you want.

Re: NBA League Pass, any insights
i buy it yearly. if you live in canada you don’t get anything that’s being shown on tsn/sportsnet live but you can watch in full after the game concludes. so really you’re gonna miss the marquee tnt & espn games unless you also have cable.
on busy game nights it’s great for courtsurfing. you can choose which feed you want to watch and there’s no ads, instead you’ll see the in arena stuff like cheerleaders and t shirt toss.
buy your league pass access through the nba app. it’s something like $120/yr, definitely dont buy it through your cable provider. i guess that’s assuming you have a way to access the app, i use an apple tv.

I am surprised you don't watch it from browser, since the app is really bad, indeed.
They switched to Microsoft, so browser support isn't perfect as well, the forwarding is very slow (or lack of buffer), but I still feel it is better than cable.

the app really is bad on google tv. i find that playing it on the app on a phone/tablet and then casting it to my chromecast makes for a smoother streaming experience which is stupid.

I use Apple TV and no issues. I like the app a lot and watch NBA TV and tons of games. They even have multi-screen which is fun. Blackouts are a pain, but on busy night you can catch quite a few live games.

The funny part, the league actually gets paid from the Chinese streaming sights.

Re: NBA League Pass, any insights
You only have two options if you're in Canada trying to watch live Raptors games:
1. Take it up the ass and pay for both TSN and Sportsnet
2. Sail the high seas
The sad reality is, paying all that money doesn't even necessarily give you a good streaming experience.

I’ll try that, but yeah, it is stupid.

Re: NBA League Pass, any insights
I buy it every year and consider it one of the best purchases I make.
The app itself sucks but the price for how much content you get is great. I pretty much watch at least a game a night during the week. It’s great to throw on the phone if I’m working late in the office or toss it on the TV when I’m home. Highly recommend it.

Re: NBA League Pass, any insights
I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet... You can no longer watch Raptors games right after the game ends. You now have to wait 3 days to watch the game. Makes it pointless and I wish I knew this before I bought it. So no it's not worth it anymore.

Find someone in your life who sells an IPTV subscription. That is the best way for you to go. Got one this year and wont look back.

Can I ask, how?
Like what/who can do anything about it?
