Removing Lonnie Walker Time, the Celtics have an offensive rating of 148.2 and are expected to win 81 games (one off my preseason prediction), per CleaningtheGlass.

Who's beating us? Or do we just not show up for the last game?

You have to account for us eventually blowing a 30 point lead against the Hawks and wanting to execute everyone involved with the organization

Besides outright haters, I feel like a huge amount of the flack the Celtics get must be from people who are primarily watching the player with the ball and derive their entertainment from seeing the ball-handler do incredible individual things, like hitting tough contested shots, burning defenders, making circus passes, etc. Whereas the Celtics' offense is built around generating high efficiency shots by getting open looks and mismatches, so a lot of the most interesting activity is happening through actions and off ball motion, or in seeing how the Celtics reposition and make passes to exploit opposing defenses scrambling to cover after the Celtics generate some advantage, and if you aren't paying attention to those things or don't care then you might find it less entertaining because by design the actual shots the Celtics take have less variety and challenge compared to other teams. I feel like that in particular is a legitimate difference in preference, although I strongly disagree with it - I think this style of play is incredibly visually appealing and exciting. And contrary to people's fears, I think it would be really hard to replicate that amount of three point volume for most teams in the NBA right now, because it's hard to get the personnel to make it work.
Nonetheless, I am annoyed at the people incorrectly insisting the Celtics are just "standing around jacking up threes". They're very obviously doing a LOT on offense to make opposing defenses lose their shape and get the ball in the right place to create those three point opportunities. And all those threes come in the flow of the game, unlike when players recklessly take it to the hoop to seek contact so they can get free throws, which is another moneyball efficiency-maximizing strategy that I genuinely would see as a threat to the entertainment value of basketball if it were to take off and become a predominant form of offense.

Must be fun to be part of the Celtics social media content team when they pay you to fly like this.

Seeing the C's start to the year I'm starting to get greedy. Unless injuries derail the season I think its the C's title to lose.

Re: Celtics 2024-25, Season Thread
Opposing fans and Celtics haters have lost their collective mind. Mazzulla Ball has broken them.

EDIT: I should really stop using the James Franco gif.
Why wouldn't you want this to be part of the future of basketball??

After I few recent back and forths on the main board I’ve come to a conclusion…
Not only is the team killing it but quite often if I can be so forthright so are many of the posters here. You just can’t expect anything but a slim minority of useful criticism elsewhere and the large majority of it is poorly thought through, triggered nonsense or just meh quality at best. There are of course some other good voices in the wilderness but it’s Paul Pierce pre-2007 days out there.
Doesn’t mean that there isn’t a real contingent of poor Celtics posting (there is), but I’m also fine taking a moment to just acknowledge what’s happening here.
Helps set the expectations.

Pretty sure they contracted that out to a professional Drone and camera company/contractor. Maybe they splice some of the video together since looks like maybe their were some cuts if not multiple drones.

I'm pretty sure they had a real person fly. I've yet to see real evidence to the contrary.

Sometimes the most obvious answer is the one flying right over your head.

Why would any sane mind petition the league for rule changes to remove/limit this?

That JB pass to Al was beautiful. 2 years ago he forces the shot. 4-5 years ago he turns it over before getting the shot off.

I don’t think so. They were 10th prior to Detroit, but in general the defense hadn’t been great. I don’t think it’s been 13th bad though.
