it's what we do around here. we don't even have to see a glimmer of hope with these kids and we run with it. and if they show out a lil we start to compare em to HOF talent like nash and kawhi. yet if any of us have some valid concern about vets that have proven flaws we're irrational and haters. the audacity of this place.

(In fact the site seems to publish a similar article every year. It's a little surprising there isn't one for 2024-2025 up yet.)

Less substantiated information puts/guesses Lessort's salary at 1m (net???). That seems on the low side, but per eurohoops he's making less than 2m (net).

I suppose the Knicks could give him up to, what?, 2.5m (gross). Would that be a better use of the vet min slot than a wing?

Here's an interesting Reddit post that gives Lessort as making 1.7m € (approx $1.85) for 2024-2025. For sanity checking purposes, it gives Juancho Hernangomes as making $2.3m , where for last year eurohoops put Juancho at $2.1m. So the numbers seem to be roughly right.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Euroleague/comments/1f7wgsi/olympiacos_player_salaries_budget_2425_revealed/

(Down thread there's a response by OP to a request for PAO salary information.)

(There's also someone "correcting" some of the Olympiakos salaries , in most cases increasing them by something like 0.1m)

as far as i know, if you earn 1 or 2 mil in your home near your friends and family. 500k more per year doesnt make teh cut to move across the globe. not everybody loves america :D

Sure, not everyone wants to live in the US. But living in Greece isn't really living near your family and friends if you're from Martinique.

Also, there is the opportunity to jump to a NBA level contract if coming to the NBA works out, whilst it should be possible to go back to Europe if it doesn't without badly effecting his pay in Europe.

Could end up being a blessing if Hukporti, Dadiet and Sims take a step.

Start: KAT, Hart, OG, Bridges, Brunson
Bench: Deuce, Payne, Dadiet, Huk

We've got enough... until Precious/Mitch return.

Both Huk and Paco have played professional ball and are well rounded fundamentally, so I don't see why Thibs wouldn't give them some run while Precious is out. It's the beginning of the season, if it was the end of the season I think he might be more hesitant without quality NBA play to base it off of but he's given young guys run early before.

I'm not talking about starting or heavy minutes, but he has played young guys earlier in the season to see what they got. These two have pro ball experience and have solid fundamentals, that's a couple of traits he values, too, so they might get a look sooner considering Precious being out for a few weeks.

He might get some minutes tho.

I like this kid. He really seems to want the NBA smoke. Unlike Jokewhobaitedus.

Ok. If the Knicks are up 40 with under two minutes to go. Dadiet might get some burn

Kolek or Pac will be needed right out of the gate. I will assume Huk gets converted because now we really need him.

Three rookies with Cam/Deuce? Sims is absolute trash. This sucks. I was really hoping to get a fresh start. We are already limping into the season. Next man up from day one.

I mean if we were leaning on precious to somehow make everything you said much better then idk. We lost depth no matter what. Precious doesn’t make our situation a whole lot better

Ok. So more minutes for Sims does? I agree to disagree. We saw that depth matters last season. It's not the end of the world but, it definitely hurts our rotations.

Here me out....

The bench can use Hart because right now it is thin of veterans who can play outside of Mcbride and Payne. Dadiet's BBIQ for off-ball play is probably why he was drafted as a first-round to begin with, and he legit has stretch PF size.

Brunson
Bridges
OG
Dadiet
Towns

Bench
Mcbride
Hart

For a few weeks, it works. Especially if the goal is to not put to much pressure on Bridges to hit 3's to start the season, and eventually move Precious with Mitch to take back about $20 million in salary. Hart's ability to play either forward spot is going to be needed with Precious out.

I like this - please get Thibs to implement this before game 43.

The current starting line-up can work very well. Just needs time to gel which is what it will get. Thibs isn't known to make quick changes. The bigger question is how to get the bench revving to it's fullest potential. I think Sims needs to be out of the rotation. Payne was awful against the Celtics but he's been good in the pre-season so I'd let him keep getting minutes for now until Kolek is ready to take over.

My ideal bench would be Precious, Deuce, Kolek and Dadiet with some Huk sprinkled in. I think those guys could develop into something special by season's end.

When we are healthy we'll actually have a very deep bench:

C Robinson, Hukporti, Sims (I think Huk passes Sims by the end of this month)
PF Achiuwa
SF Dadiet
SG McBride, Shamet(?)
PG Payne, Kolek

That bench squad alone could fight for a play in spot.

I think you will see Mitch off the bench, but sometimes play with Towns. And Precious will also sometimes play with Towns. I don't think Mitch and Precious will share the floor together if fully healthy.

I think unless Dadiet really shows out, that a healthy Shamet will get minutes in front of him, but with a healthy 9-man rotation that's:

KAT
OG
Bridges
Hart
Jalen

McBride
Mitch
Precious
Payne
