Re: PG Nets: Blow it the **** Up
I watched only the first game (vs Sixers) and i am 90% sure that Giannis and Dame dislike each other. Also, both dislike and don't trust Doc. Doc doesn't like them too. I can't prove it of course, i just feel it. Team chemistry is broken irreparably. And when a group of people don't like each other, the worst part of them usually rises to the surface. It's similar to a bad relationship with a woman (or a man) : At the last stage of the relationship, both partners are becoming insufferable and mean. The one is making the other worse instead of making him/her better. And then, they break up. Or should.
Giannis only likes Khris, Pat C. and Lopez. Some times he likes Bobby, too.
I am sure that Bucks would be a better team with a good coach. But even Doc, is not a bad coach. At least, his teams ate thriving in RS. It's not entirely his fault. But he is still a part of the problem. A problematic team should have a fighter leading it. Doc doesn't believe in this team. Of course he hyped Bucks before season starts. But words don't mean sh..t.
This team is still talented and they can win great teams, they can obliterate Boston tomorrow. But they cannot be consistent.
It's dumb saying all those things after only 3 games. Dumb and ridiculous and because i am a dumb person who doesn't know anything about basketball, i hope i am wrong. But even if i am wrong, these players should be ashamed of themselves. Where is your sense of urgency? Where is your basketball pride? You start the season by losinng to 2 bad teams, are you f%$5$g serious? What the hell? And what about all those fans who wait for 4-5 months to watch their favorite team? Where is your effort?
I am sorry if my behavior is out of line, i won't say anything else for a long time.

I agree on Dame and GA not liking each other. And like you, it’s just a feeling/eyeballing it.

3) Khris Middleton was a top 30 player in his prime. But his body has given out.
Thus endeth my Ted talk.
I agree with point 1 strongly. Point 2: Was exciting. Accent on the “Was”
Point 3: I am hopeful that his body will come back. He played so well at the end of the playoffs last season.

Dark days ahead for this franchise.
You can't have a time-line like the Bucks have had and not come crashing down.
Firing Bud was the beginning. Damn near every personnel move since then has been detrimental.

Having a guy like Bud or Nurse would be nice and we could have had that but really the issue is roster construction and how our pieces fit together moreso than coaching. What is this team good at now? It's not defense, it's not shooting, it's not sharing the ball, it's not athleticism, not even rebounding, there is no identity to hang our hat on.

Bud earned getting canned.
Maybe the Lillard stiff is true.
The Middleton thing is hilarious. Last we saw him he was once again dominating a playoff series versus a good team. If this start reminds us of anything, it's that he's the heart and soul of this team.

They are who their best player is. Golden State have been pretty up and down the past few years but Steph is always sharing the ball and setting screens and those qualities rub off on his teammates. If Giannis was giving effort on defence and rebounding and having fun sharing the ball on offense the rest of the team would follow too.

Excuse my excessive doomerism tonight.
Considering Horst sold the next 6-8 years of the franchise. It'll probably be worse. I'm waiting for someone to tell me Horst is good though.

Maybe if his name was Denise instead of Dennis.

I missed this game but Giannis has been phoning it on defense since atleast last year.

I doubt Giannis would stick around for a mini-rebuild/re-tool so you'd probably recoup some of that immediate future back with picks when you trade him. Just need to make sure Horst isn't doing the drafting.
For now, I'm just going to huff on my hopium that this team figures it out and they are just rusty because thinking of Giannis on another team is depressing enough

He'll still swallow up some dudes 1on1 and have the occasional highlight blocks but yeah he's been pretty disappointing for a bit now. The coaching staff really need to get him focussed on that end again.

Re: PG Nets: Blow it the **** Up
The next move will have to be to trade Lillard. Acquiring somebody who demanded to go to Miami was always a championship or bust scenario, and with things going like this it is a ticking time bomb until everything implodes. The team is too old and slow, and we've gotten nothing out of the draft for 5 years. Getting quality younger players is the only way to salvage things, and that is the only way to do it.

I know I’m probably overreacting but it’s kinda wild the Giannis era - as amazing as winning the title was - will only yield 2 deep postseason runs (2019 and 2021).

And for people pining for Jrue and Bud, this show would look different with them here but have the same outcome.
We’d still have an elite floor spacer in Grayson and more importantly, control of our draft for, 2028 to 2030.
People need to stop viewing the deal as just Jrue for Lillard. We gave up a hell of a lot more in addition to Holiday. Those three unprotected picks/swaps might have brought in some new young talent now in a different trade.
