The numbers match the eye test. I think he can be a special defender, he has all the tools and the mentality to be one. He's the same height as Scottie and just as strong but probably more explosive. The main difference is his ability to turn his hips very quickly which allows him to stay in front of people and react quickly to their moves, Scottie has very stiff hips in comparison and it limits his ability to stay in front of quicker and especially shiftier guys who make multiple moves. That's why Scottie is probably not ideally a POA defender and having him more as a roamer and solid rim protector on the back end is the best use of what he does well.

I don't know why Mogbo didn't get put in late to hold the 9 point lead?

I'm a believer.

Not too late to buy his stock.

He has All-Defense potential.

Him and Shead make offenses uncomfortable.

Raptors draft board as in our FO? Clingan was our preferred option based on rumours?

On this forum, most of us have Mogbo and Shead with our 2nd round. Chomche was on the radar, but too high for the top 2nd pick.

Filipowski was preferred by man as well, Kyshawn George and Ryan Dunn are also interested by those who wants to fill the SF spot. While Mogbo was a favourte among us (I was high on him, particularly on this weak draft), many of those did not participate on draft board don't want a non-shooter in Mogbo after he was drafted, perhaps that reminded them Achuiwa.

Walter was not known to be dropped, and most was not interested in another SG when we need size. Most of us were interested in a C on our 1st pick.

He needs a permanent rotation spot. The only skill he needs is to finish strong and through contact. If he can develop a shot great, otherwise he's still amazing as a small ball C. I want to see him at the 5 with Olynyk at the 4. Then fill in with Agbaji, Brown, Shead, and Mitchell. That's a pretty good bench.

In that long article about Shead the other day, it mentioned that the Raps strongly considered taking Shead with the Mogbo pick, but went with Mogbo in the end. And I would guess that at least a couple of the guys who went in the 1st round the Raptors wouldn't have chosen.

To me that suggests that they probably had both Mogbo and Shead in at least a late-1st round tier on their draft board.

Shead does get into the lane and is a pure PG, instead of SG Davion. Mogbo continues to get offensive rebounds and hit his FT's which I don't understand why he wasn't in the game when Denver needed to foul.

In his rookie class, Mogbo is currently 1st in BPM, 1st in total steals, 2nd in VORP, 4th in ws/48, 4th in total assists, 5th in total rebounds, 7th in total points

He’s averaging 4.8 stocks per 36 minutes through 5 games now.

2.2 per game in 16.6 mpg

Mogbo is a beast. He's getting comfortable going coast to coast after ripping down the rebound. It's great to see. The steps I want him and Agbaji to take is showing out in transition and finishing plays, and playing great defense. Our bench needs to score in transition or they usually go on a drought. Mogbo and Shead give us some great bench pieces it'll be interesting to see how they improve over the next 3 years.

If he can shoot over 30% from 3, could he be better than AK-47?

It's not even guaranteed he can shoot 30% from 2!

What excites me is his free throw percentage. He is nothing like precious regarding free throws as I was quite impressed by his FT%. Combined with his defensive potential and Scottie being absent for awhile, he is likey going to put up decent numbers in the coming weeks. He has crazy high stocks number for a rookie.

Every game? He looks like each season he'll shoot over 50%, though might go under when starting to shoot more 3's.

I think he will be at least average in shooting 3s at the SF spot in a few years of development. For now he is definitely best to be the 5th option, and until he got to 905 for a shooting program for adding a corner 3 and floater game.
