Yeah I think Clingan is going to be the advanced stat darling this year. His per minute production is so impactful, and yet he will struggle to play longer than 20 minutes per game even if the Blazers make time in the rotation for him.

He is going to get dinged for a lot of 3 second violations though. Dude pitches a tent in the key.

So disrespectful that Ryan Dunn isn't even mentioned under OTHER. Dunn will win ROY.

...... This class is not really starting strong at all other than Missi and Dunn.

Reed was never going to get time on this rockets team right off the bat. The team is trying to be competitive and they are pretty loaded at the guard spots. This isn't the year for Reed.

But yea, the class is living up to it's reputation so far.

Steph Castle continues to impress me. His play has not translated to a lot of box score stats but just watching him play, I think we have found Victor's PG of the future already. And who better to tutor him than Chris Paul. He is already probably the 2nd best defensive player on the team. Can't wait to see how he grows over the season

10/28

This could be a Malcolm Brogdon year where a 2nd rounder like Shead or Wells wins ROY.

Jamal Shead, Raptors - 8 points, 5 assists, 1 steal
Alex Sarr, Wizards - 7 points, 9 rebounds, 2 blocks, 1 steal
Carlton Carrington, Wizards - 13 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists
Zaccharie Risacher, Hawks - 4 points, 3 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 blocks
Jaylen Wells, Grizzlies - 11 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists

I repeat Ryan Dunn will win ROY. Dude put the clamps on Lebron and the Lakers last night. That's way more important than the numbers Wells or Shead put up.

Not for the ROY voting, historically speaking.

Fair but it has been done before. Brogdon won averaging 10/3/4 albeit Embiid did miss a good portion on that season. But take out Embiid from that draft you have a similar draft class as this year. Bunch of OK names, no one really stands out. If Dunn can average 8-10 points and possibly make a 2nd team all-nba defense I can def see him winning it. So far he has done a good job on the likes of harden, lebron and luka.

You might want to watch Shead some more if you think it's just about the numbers he's putting up. He's also a massively disruptive defender.

I have watched. In no way am i saying Shead isn't good. He's playing real good offensively and defensively this year and hope he keeps it up. Raptors are a fun watch.

But I would argue Dunn has played better offensively and defensively considering who has had to play against in the first 4 games (Lebron twice, Harden & Luka). Dunn has a better offensive and defensive rating.

They've both been quite good. They're obviously different kinds of players so it's hard to compare them. They both came into the league with defence as their calling card, and it's translated. Dunn is more of a wing defender, and Shead is a point-of-attack guard defender. They both have their uses depending on the opponent.

They've got different offensive roles too. I would probably argue that Dunn's is easier right now, especially playing off of guys like Durant and Booker. His shooting improvement from college has been remarkable though. It's hard to think of another example of a player that was basically a non-shooter in college, and instantly came in and hit them at a high clip.

Shead, on the other hand, has been tasked with initiating the offence a lot of the time with Quickley out, and he's demonstrated excellent playmaking chops (but definitely making some rookie mistakes and turning the ball over a bit too much).

Either way, it's fun to see late-1st/2nd round picks like these guys excelling so quickly in the league.

What's going on with Edey? I haven't caught any Memphis games but he's consistently negative and can't stay on the court. There were a good amount of people projecting him as exactly that.

The game has passed his type.

It's like the Raptors drafted two young vets (Mogbo and Shead), in a "terrible draft".
