AD/Paolo/Shai/Tatum have been the standouts so far.

I expect Luka to get better as the season goes on.

Giannis/Jokic have no chance if they can’t get to 50 wins.

So early
I guess if the season ended today I'd give it to AD. I am also predicting he will drop out of the top 5 in about 2 weeks

Banchero wasn't that great before this monster game though. Very early, yeah, I know.

1. Davis
2. Tatum
3. SGA
4. Jokic
5. Holmgren

would be my stupid ballot at this point.

Jokic is still the best player in the world, and I don't think it's close. A YT comment here says he's averaging 19 potential assists. That would mean his teammates are shooting like 37% off his passes.

But Davis is obviously having the best season in the NBA so far.

Is this the year Joker decides to lead the league in scoring? He might have to...

He did have 33 PTS 11 REB on .619 TS% in the season opener.

Basically he's had two great games and two not very good shooting games in the first week.

He dropped a bit last night and is down to 16.7 potential assists per game. Harden has the exact same number of potential assists but is averaging 11.7 assists per game. Jokic is averaging 7.

Yeah, he also had a very good first game, but I think "wasn't great" was an accurate remark from me for that three-game span, which again, is not a whole lot, but still, I don't think he would have been in the convo after three games. He might be in the conversation after the fourth. Anyway, this is what I would personally only open this thread after 15 games, or 10 at the very least.

Nuggets aren't gonna win enough with their roster gutted and Murray & MPJ not stepping up at all but it's still hillarious just how dominant Jokic is. he's always in this convo :)

Jokic is the best player in the game and if teams single cover him he will destroy everything.

My belief is that Jokic could average 30/15/15 on 60% shooting and still wouldn't win MVP. The voters are very swayed by whose “turn” it is, and it’s as if Shai/Tatum/Luka have been predetermined as the three options for MVP this season before a single game was even played.

Jokic will likely have his best statistical season ever, but his chances to win yet again will be slim. Will require the 1 seed, nothing less I would say..
