Well let's assume that Houston feels confident they can get at least 3-4 more runs with MVP-Joel to make it worth it. What are we talking? Sengun + 1 or 2 of their young stud wings?
That seems highly optimistic. It’s probably 2 more run of full health. Before load managing and missing parts of playoff kick in.
Houston isn’t ready to compete this season so that’s 1 of those season kind of a waste.
He's only 30. With load management / better pacing in the regular season I don't think 3-4 runs with him is unrealistic barring some new massive injury.
And how far away from contending are they if they replace Sengun with Joel and Joel is willing to pace himself on a much deeper team that doesn't just implode whenever he's on the bench? I think that depends on what it costs to get him.
Do you live under a rock?
Kevin Durant (36), Anthony Davis (31), Stephen Curry (36), and Giannis Antetekoumpo (29) all have several elite/contending years remaining, but Embiid (30) is basically already done.
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:
Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Grimes/Edgecombe/Gordon
Oubre/Edwards
George/Watford/Walker
Embiid/Bona/Drummond/Broome

No. Sengun and Jabari and a pick. And that's a big discount baking in injury concerns.
It's irrelevant though because Philly isn't trading Embiid injuries or not.

How many picks does it take to get philly to bite in a world were they decide to pivot to Maxey's timeline if the bones of the trade are Sengun + 1 of Thompson / Eason / Whitmore + draft capital?

Brunson: So what are you paid to do?
Hart: Run around like an idiot during the game and f*** s*** up!

I think in that theoretical world it would be 4 1sts to bridge the gap. I think the Sixers would take Eason as the 2nd player as well.
