We are three games in, not ready to completely panic on a guy that has been a pro for 10+ years.

I know it's early, but between what we've seen in pre-season and so far through 3 games this season - Micic is not the answer. He's an enormous negative out there right now. I know we don't have the answer on the roster, but aren't Fultz and DSJ still available? I am confident one of those two could come in here and turn backup PG into an actual strength vs having Micic or running NSJ at point.

Speaking of NSJ, what are we doing? He's never going to see the court unless there's a bunch of injuries (obviously very possible) so a decision needs to be made by the trade deadline on him while he's still got some value, IMO.

Miller hasn't played, Josh Green has played 18 mins thus far.. even short handed Micic has played 15 mpg. Things are trending towards him being the 10th man when we are healthy regardless of how poor he has played.

Ball
Miller
Green
Miles
Nick
Mann
Grant
Martin
Diabette/Mark

That is really our top 9 guys that will probably play the majority of mins.
Curry/Micic are fighting for the last spot in the rotation to play 12 mpg when we get healthy.

Curry has played 2x the mins this season.

Curry has been 1000x more effective offensively, has had a few key plays in the Houston game that led to possessions and just as useless defensively so Curry should win out over Micic.

My assumption is that when Brandon Miller gets back micic gets pushed out of the rotation with a second unit of Curry mann and Cody all capable of initiating the offense

Micic has been benched 3 games straight. Even NSJ is getting minutes ahead of him now which is the appropriate move when Micic has no long term role yet NSJ does. You surrender wins and invest in the less experienced, more mistake prone player. He missed a wide open 3 and displayed some emotion afterwards. He was obviously mad at himself.

But I like that Lee made the swap I called for.

And yes I know once Seth returns NSJ is out, I'm just satisfied seeing Micic did not return for Seth ahead of NSJ.

That's the least shocking news blurb I've seen today. For someone who played so terrible in the preseason I don't think he has much of a leg to stand on to be upset about playing time. Granted I have said since the beginning that I do think some of this is scheme related and he some one who would thrive more in a offense with a lot more motion and cuts. But even in the best of situations he's a backup point guard for some team.

iirc the reason Micic didn't come over for all these years is he didn't want to be stuck as a backup on a bad team, so he never signed with the Process Sixers (who owned his rights from 2014-20) or with the Thunder from 2020-23. So any report of him wanting out of being stuck behind Melo on a team that's probably gonna win like 32 games, is not all that surprising to me.

Playing like absolute trash like he did in the preseason isn't going to get another team to trade for him though.

It's a shame because I liked him last season after the trade.

Micic was the only guy to pick up a DNP yesterday lol, i think its fair to say the Micic era is over in Charlotte. hopefully they can get the buyout done asap and get someone who can play in here

It's really a shame because this offense could desperately use another player who can get into the paint and create offense for others.

After watching that, the most pathetic layup miss in a Hornets uniform in years, can’t help but think he’s done here.

I still believe in Vasa he is a good player. He has let me down so far this year.

He tried to get the Hornets to trade him by playing like **** but it backfired becuase our front office really wants to tank.

I still think he will play his way into shape and be a good player down the stretch, so maybe the joke will be on the front office if they don't trade him.
