What about that defense though? Really showed what they are capable of when things tighten up. They were fighting around picks, communicating so loud you can hear them, contesting hard and really disrupted things in that 4th. It’s still going to take time for the defense to really get organized because we saw a bunch of miscommunication especially in the 1st half where it was layup drills for Miami but when they tightened things up in the 2nd half it showed us their true potential. Would love to see that continue

So we lost iHart which was a blow cuz of how great a passer he was last year, but KAT is quietly a pretty good passer, maybe not as good as iHart but he gets it done... his passes with him as the point center generate offense when things get stagnant, the other 4 guys just gotta keep cutting and moving without the ball, we did these much better in 3rd and 4th quarters.

My favorite look of the night was Josh Hart bringing the ball up for the starters while Brunson ran his man through screens to get the ball in motion and on a wing, where he could attack quickly.

Not only did that prevent the defense from loading up on Brunson, but it helped deter Hart's defenders from sagging all the way to the paint.

Deuce also moved Brunson off ball for a few plays, so I think/hope that's going to become a more common strategy.

Also over the past few years when a Knicks player gets 25 shots and scores like KAT did I'm usually seeing a guy dribble the air out of ball and use up alot of shot clock to do it...like Brunson does but he's a PG so the ball typically will be in his hands quite a bit. With KAT he doesn't dribble all that much, even his post ups are finished with a shot or pass after 3 or 4 dribbles and just a few seconds to 5 at most.

Morning thoughts

So far so good with KAT. We all knew he was talented but seeing him do it in a NYK jersey is nice to see. Haven't seen this type of scoring from our C since Ewing. I specifically love the low post scoring!

Brunson with 9 assists and 1 turnover and Payne with 1 shot and 5 assists. Great playmaking from the PGs! And you know the Burner will start scoring his usual 30.

Love Thibs adjustment of having the offense start with Hart and have Brunson run threw screens. Kind of like Draymond with Curry.

Wished Huk got those backup minutes over Sims.

Deuce dunk was nice!

Possibly the reason why it may seem like iHart is a better passer than KAT is because he isn't as good a shooter and scorer so the latter finishes the play with points themselves more often than the former. Just a thought.

I was very happy to see Kat have a great game against Bam and Butler(because of their history)
Like I mentioned before --when we first got him- I saw a completely different player when I watched him last year
in the play-offs( in comparison to when he was draft and I called him soft).

It’s more than that with Bam. It seems KAT has always had his number and outplays him. He’d beaten him 11-1 times before joining the Knicks.

yeah but we speaking on bam overall for the season so far. it’s early but he just looks disengaged and a shell of the all star center he’s established himself as in recent years

we certainly can use a bench scoring threat thats for sure. I know we stagger but Deuce is the only one that can score off the bench and I don't trust Cam Payne at all in that regards.
