Didn't we acquire Portland's second this year in the Davion trade? It isn't listed on Tankathon

Takes two (or three) to tango. Need to give time for teams to figure out what they need first, even if we are willing trade partners.
The easiest move for a Yak deal was probably the Pelicans, but then Murray and TM3 got hurt, so who knows where that team is at?
Also, what happens if the Pacers start shopping Turner, and then the Raps are competing with them for deals.
2 very different players.
I don't know why the Pacers would trade him as we own their pick next year and they have no replacement for him nor is there any FAs out there to go get that can fill his role. If he was extension eligible, I'm pretty sure he'd be locked up already. And even if they were to trade him, their asking price will be very different than ours. They wanted 2 first or a prospect and a first for him before the extension. To trade him now, they will need another big to come in through a 3-way as draft assets do nothing for them and they are not in a position to take on salary.
The real Poeltl threats are Valanciunas, Allen, Claxton, and Kessler. Cleveland seems like they will roll with Mobley/Allen at least for this full season so he's likely out. Claxton and Valanciunas can't be traded until the deadline I believe, and Poeltl is better than both of them. And Kessler has been on the market since the off-season.
Yes Allen is a legit threat for a trade, and comparable in value to Yak. Jonas is too old and slow. He'll be had for cheap at the deadline. And both Claxton and Kessler are overrated, and not worth the money they command or will command.

Re: Tank World Order V (Rise of the Phoenix)
nice, fell asleep while the game was on but portland ended up beating the clippers. def couldn't have asked for a better night of tanking. pretty much all our closest competition playing last night ended up winning.

We got Utah playing the Alien tonight as the big pumpkin night tanking game. We'll see if they can finally pick up a W too.

Spend the next 3 weeks building Poeltl’s trade value then find a home for him and Brown. Then let the tank do the rest….

Tankathon says "Not all trades are accounted for in the 2nd round. Still waiting to see how some things shake out from the 2024 Draft trades."
On RealGM it says
Portland 2025 - To TOR (via SAC); ATL 31-40
Not sure what that means. It may go to Atlanta if 31-40 and Toronto if 41-60.

The biggest threat are the Jazz, who are openly tanking. They yanked Markkanen after 17 minutes the other night and he stayed on the bench so was presumably not injured enough that he couldn't go back out there. Home game too, which makes it all the more shameless.
Pistons still loom as a threat because they are just bad. Gores has given them a mandate to win, but he did so last year also lol.

It's always a great 2 for 1 when you lose to your competition too.

Props TZ!

I haven't heard of that protection but if true that would really suck.
I do remember though when the trade was announced it took a bit for the POR details to come out

Tank rolls on, that CHA game was huge.
As long as we lose the next game against LAL we will be in great position being 1-5.

Except we also want Portland to lose for that 2nd round pick

Looks like Cade is ready to emerge as an allstar.

I'm so conflicted

This, so far has been an ideal tanking season. No team fire sale, close losses, a solid look at the youngsters, and we're seeing nice improvements from the incumbents.

Props TZ!

Re: Tank World Order V (Rise of the Phoenix)
ideally, i prefer if raptors kept Poeltl, but find a way to sit him out so next year, raptors are in a better position to compete
if you trade him, you losing a guy who's critical to setting screens and passing for Darko's motion offense
