Khris feels good. Just not good enough to play.

"I'm blaming you in the post-game presser" - Doc probably

Fall deep in the pooper so we can draft Cooper.

I'm always the one preaching that in a 6 month 82 game season there will be bad stretches. The championship team had a 6 game losing streak and this board was losing its mind. But I've had it with the current team.

Nevermind Doc, there are some good coaches on the bench. This is a roster construction abomination.

Can't trade Khris, he's Giannis' buddy!

Can't trade Bobby, the fans love chanting Bobby! Bobby!

Can't trade Pat, he invests in local real estate with one of our owners!

Haven't drafted and developed a player since Brogdon.

I'm sure Doc has some say in personnel (as do all coaches) but he's had nothing to do with the above.

Need a real POBO (not kicking Doc upstairs) who hires a new GM.

We don't have draft capital for years but we will have some cap space.

If Giannis balks about moving some of his friends and doing a mini rebuild, he can go too.

Need a youth movement. Our season would appear to hinge on Khris' paper mache ankles, yeah no.

The NBA has passed this team by. I do not trust Horst in helping us get out of the mess he created.

I don't believe we own any of our own first until 2031. Can someone smarter than me confirm?

EDIT: I see what you're putting down now, lot's of what ifs.

We gotta get something back for Dame. Even if it’s 60 cents on the dollar for what we paid.

Time to cut our losses there.

Can we trade him to Detroit for Duren and a second?

Dame four points in 33 minutes! I'd take a single first round pick for him.

Giannis is 29, we can still rebuild around him before he is truly unable to be the alpha of a title run. It will be too late if we keep putting it off.

It's protected from the Pelicans, not the Nets though, unfortunately.

MIL's 2025 1st round pick to NOP protected for selections 5-30 or to BKN protected for selections 1-4 (MIL's obligation to NOP or BKN will thereafter be extinguished)

Said this right at the end of the game thread and once before too, but given the recent Middleton quotes about "feeling good, but not good enough to play" it's very apt.

Relying on players who are constantly sitting out is not the answer for any team in the NBA. Eventually organizations will realize that even if it's an MVP caliber player, you cannot build a team around someone who isn't available to play the vast majority of regular season games. Teams never develop chemistry, and they moreso they never develop a serious attitude because in their heads they all are thinking "we aren't even whole yet, wait til so and so comes back". That means that those teams will routinely give up at the first sign of adversity. And by the time their star guy comes back "healthy" a bunch of other players are banged up too so they never get to play with the whole team and then the guy is out again.

Clippers, 76ers, any team Durant has been on post GS, us with Middleton, etc. It does not matter, if your guy can't play the vast majority of regular season games you cannot build around them and you're better off trading them. The old adage about you don't trade a dollar for 4 quarters does not apply with guys who are always injured. They are being overvalued consistently and teams haven't yet figured this out. It's only exacerbated when the players are on huge contracts/not the rookie deal as they handicap the team from making moves around them too.
