I see us experimenting. Cole likely will get an opportunity as we need to find a lot of offense with Paolo out.

I'd start Suggs/KCP/Black/Wagner/Carter.

Both Wagners in the starting lineup is probably the way they'll go.

AB, Harris, Isaac, Jett, and Goga or TDS.

This will be a good opportunity for them to learn how to win as a team without Paolo.

More minutes now for TDS.

How many games will he be out 15-20?

Likely most of the season with Weltman in charge

Well this is extremely disappointing but get a grip, season is not over. Bunch of loser tanking talk, pathetic. This is a temporary speed bump. Will hurt our playoff seeding for sure. Our depth will need to step up.

We won’t have to ‘tank’… we’ll just not be good enough to win if anyone else goes down or isn’t feeling well. Franz still isn’t 100%.

We were so lucky with injuries last year. We were due.

In all of this, I just feel so sorry for Paolo. You got this!!!

I keep saying it but this FO is all about the big picture and sustainability in ways no other NBA team has done it. Clearly, the Spurs and OKC come to mind but Weltman has a certain flavor about it.

To see it like they do, you have to zoom out and recognize there are positives even in the negatives.

Paolo will recover. Players will develop. The team will improve.

Our future is not all hanging on 24-25 and the season is going to have value no matter what.

If nothing else, things will be fresh for at least the next couple months. Let's try and loosen up and see where it takes us.

Could someone confirm but is there a chance that Paolo just lost some money here. We all know that Paolo was going to get a max contract this offseason. But is there a stipulation of some sort that if he made a NBA all team he would have gotten a bigger max or am I incorrect with that assumption?

Yeah, let's be irrelevant for another dozen years; we'll be good come 2037.

MasterGMer wrote:For the tanking advocate here, even if we land one of the Top picks in this year's deep draft, how are we going to afford the team including two Max extension with Paolo and Franz, plus 30M per year average for Suggs AND paying Wendell, JI and KCP. Also what about AB and Jett's rookie extension?

Simply put, let's say we have Cooper Flagg. He would be on rookie contract for the next 4 years. Then we trade away Franz or Paolo when the rookie max extension kicks in? While extending AB and Jett if they produce like we expect?

That is not going to work in the new CBA and Salary Cap.

Tanking kills the team's any momentum we have got for the last 2 years and the losing culture will be devastating for the team growth. It would be a nightmare and kill the credibility of Mosley's influence in the locker room or commanding the team.

Yes we land another star, all star or even super star. Sounds pretty, right? But the price for it WILL BE HUGE!

If we purely look at it in a team building perspective, I think trying to win as many games as we want and maximize any young assets or pieces we have will benefit the process plus team building also, in a cost preventive way.

We are still on track. And this year even with Paolo's injury, we can still be competitive because we have so much talent.

Trying to tank the whole season is disruptive and costly. Also let's grow internally and imo we are just one or two big trades away from contention

Man, having another potential star is a good problem to have. I am good with whatever path they take.

He can get a max with Supermax language in his contract and can make all-nba next season to get the supermax. I honestly believed that Paolo would have been on an all-NBA team this season and earned the supermax before his first rookie contract was over.

JI can start along side Wendell and Goga Mo off the bench. If JI cant go then bring in g league big to rebound and guard other 4s
