Isaac's minutes are too weird to be thrust into a starter as well. WCJ and him are both kinda clunky playing together as they are both aren't reliable consistent post players, and that would also force Moe-Goga together, which is also weird as Moe can't space the floor well and Goga plays inside. Just weird big combos.

Prob something like:

Suggs/Cole (maybe or Jett)
KCP/Harris
Black/TDS or Houstan
Franz/Isaac
WCJ/Moe

Spot Goga minutes mixed in.

Also, no way is PJ Tucker worth a first and Cole. Would rather just package that for someone else if we're doing panic trades.

Mosely had a talk with Cole that he was out of the rotation. Does Paolo’s injury bring him back? I think he is out.

Suggs / Black / Cole / Corey
KCP / Jett
Franz / Harris / Caleb
Open / JI / TDS
WCJ / Moe / Goga
That would be a bad look to put him right back in after a Paolo injury. Cole's best ability since he's been here is availability.

Would be amazing if he can be a real scoring threat while Paolo is out

well you could pull a spurs they got timmy...or golden state they got a top pick but he was not good...it has happened in past
no they have no player making max this yr...and ji is paid this yr so next 4 are cheaper

Paolo (hopefully) is only gone about 1/3rd of the season.

Team would have to have Franz/Suggs/Isaac out as well to be truly as bad as some people think for even a chance at Flagg.

We're not doing that for a 3-8% chance of a guy we already have our best positions in.

yea i dont see 1st pick but will make playoffs much harder and if both magic and denver end up with 8-12 pick could move to 6-8 and add pretty solid player ..this kind of injury should not be rushed and may even be better long term to have surgery
i would get black,jett and da silva a ton of min just to see who fits long term could add 1 to the picks and move up a couple more spots...just bumed i am sure they try to win..do not want a trade just to fill a spot this yr to win 5 more games and pick 16 or 15 to lose to boston in first rd at cost of a young player and denver pick

The thing that sucks the most for Paolo is that being an all-star and making an all-nba squad have become basically impossible unless the recovery time is much shorter than expected.

He already wasn't talked about enough and was looking to force his way into conversations. Sucks for him more than us.

If we can stay relatively healthy, we can still make the play-ins and then go from there.

But if we have another injury to Franz, Suggs, OR Isaac at the same time, we'll be lotto bound.

oh, and tonight is our first 'real' nationally televised game in a long time... and this is what we get
'real' as in, the league finally acknowledging Paolo as a marquee name and the team being good...

Sigh

Depending where we're at in the standings, the Spurs have the Atlanta Hawks unprotected first round pick! That could be huge for our tanking success if we were to take that route!

That pick would probably cost us Franz and Mo Wagner for Harrison Barnes/unprotected pick!

We could potentially have 3 first round picks with a bit more cap space and a healthy Paolo Banchero, improving Anthony Black and Jalen Suggs! :nod:

I'm rooting for a starting lineup of
Suggs/KCP/Franz/JI/WCJ

and a bench of
AB/Harris/Jett/TDS/Moe

We can fire that Anfernee Simons thread back up or handle this right here lol. This is a blessing in disguise, Weltman and the FO can’t site here and do nothing now. Our 2024 Draft picks + Denver’s 2024 Draft Pick just became a lot more valuable IMO.

Pg= Anfernee Simons
Sg= Suggs
Sf= KCP
Pf= Franz
C= WCJ

Suggs gets to slide back to his better position + we keep KCP out there for defense and let him figure out his shot. Simmons is now the combo guard capable of playing the 2 guard and gives us instant offense. AB, TdS, JI about to get more playing time. It’s time to test this roster and see what we have and make the moves we need to make

No way our front office does this because we value our first round picks too much unless it's for an impact all star player!

Plus were not going to do quick fix route either!

Trust me, I hear you and you are probably right. But if that’s what this front Office decides to do that doesn’t make it right. How much playing time are our own rookies and second your guys getting right now outside of Anthony Black? We don’t have a lot of room on this roster to keep adding rookies and playing them any longer

We’re not going to need to intentionally tank. It’ll happen organically.

This is a punt to the balls. Gimme TDS. Let’s see what we have.

I anticipate Black will get the first crack. With some more spot minutes for Jett and an introduction to TDS.

I agree with this if we are not going to make a trade to try to carry us till he comes back TdS thrown into the fire. Drafting him a total sense for protection in case Franz or P5 went down. Unfortunately, that has happened so it’s time to see if it pans out

Time for Franz and AB to show out.

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.

Doubling down on the defense was the wrong move and this will be what shows it! Like another poster previously stated when you were already elite at defense, adding a small marginal, another defensive player and ignoring your horrible offense, does not improve you all that much overall. It does not matter how many points we hold the opponent to if we cannot outscore them

I was so excited for NBA this season, not just the Magic, I was tapped into most games. This just ruined my whole mood though.
