Relitigating the Bud decision for pages and pages after a loss just never gets boring

In vacuum yes. But in the big picture no. If we're going to sort out where this team goes from here, will be instructive to figure out:

a) Who in the ownership group pulled the trigger on Bud and who thought Doc the best guy to replace him? Or was it Giannis who wanted him out?

b) How much input did Bud have in personnel matters? That impacts opinions of Horst and his skill-set. And do you keep Horst?

c) Is Giannis a rich man's Westbrook that Bud maximized via personnel and schemes? Or is there another pathway to get Giannis the help he needs, whether personnel or schemes.

It would be painful, but imagine the bidding war. The haul he'd bring in would be breathtaking.

Tatum and Jaylen and you have a deal.

Bud is a good coach but he is not the only good coach in the world. We chose to replace him with the useless Griffin and then with the mediocre Rivers.

If Bud is such a genius he will easily win with Durant, Booker and Beal, let's see

Why would the Suns easily win? On paper they are only a Top 6 team out West. They arguably won't have the best player in a series against Denver, Minnesota, Lakers, Dallas, OKC.

Yes, and we know that now only because we fired Bud. I was saying that for years. Only when we fire Bud we will see that Bud was the reason why Giannis has MVP awards. He made perfect system around truly limited player.

But, as I also said so many times, that system worked only in regular season. 2021 we had incredible luck with injuries of our main opponents. You're more likely to win the lottery than to have that much luck again.

But keep Giannis now. He is now legend who was loyal and you keep him as long as possible (until he ask for trade). We've got 47 years to figure out how to win a new ring. We can afford to lose few more years with "Giannis loyalty farewell"

This thread is an excellent summation of what my opinion is as well. Horst to Detroit is lookin' pretty good now! ;)

Bud got past the Nurse Wall but got done in by the sneaky Spoelstra Wall

Maybe the Lillard stiff is true.

The Middleton thing is hilarious. Last we saw him he was once again dominating a playoff series versus a good team. If this start reminds us of anything, it's that he's the heart and soul of this team.

Bud earned getting canned in the minds of impetuous billionaire owners and a spoiled fan base.

On the Middleton point, where am I wrong? I said he was a top 30 player in his prime but his body is broke. Immediately after the Indy series he quietly had surgery on both ankles and resides on the bench in street clothes. It sucks, but the guy’s ability to be #2 on a contender is long gone due to injury.

perfect answer on bud.

midds can be our our lanier. our celtics walton. i still believe he can be healthy enough one year or another. injuries dont concern me that much with him as a reason to dump him....his sketchy value elsewhere, cheaper contract and his legacy here makes me think he should be the last to go.

my greater concern is that its possible he quit just like everybody else on this team. talk of championships is silly imo. these guys approach everything that matters to actually winning like they just dgaf

no holidays. no pjs. no patbevs. we always needed guys like that in order to not look frustrating

Return to Milwaukee Bucks
