He has no hops but he displays effort on both ends, which sets him apart from two-thirds of the league, and his outside shot's better than I expected in June.

I agree that the lack of vertical athleticism is really striking. Fortunately he has solid length and strength so I'm not sure it'll be a limiter long term, but he doesn't seem like he's going to be regularly dunking on people or going up to catch lobs.

Did he participate at the combine? Genuinely curious what his measured vert is

I am not all that worried about Salaun's athleticism. Europe doesn't put a big focus on developing that, they are far more skill focused.

Also, the European combine and USA combine measurements results when compared made no sense.

For Example
Salaun 6' 8.75'' with 7' 1.5'' wingspan'.. showed up wit standing reach of 9' 2'
Sarr 6' 11.75'' with 7' 4.25'' wingspan... showed up with standing reach of 9' 2''

So Sarr is 3 inches taller, with 3 more inches on wingspan but had the same standing reach. It makes no sense.

Sarr had 37 inch Vert, Salaun 33 inch Vert.

Aka a lot of guys tanked their reach measurements to make Vert look good.. Salaun one of the few who didn't so it makes his number look worse on paper.

Showing promise on defense and passing (3 assists vs the Raptors) so far, and also some flashes of leaping ability from earlier.

The thing I've been most surprised by is his rebounding. He's a difference maker on the boards when he's playing.

He's gonna bring energy every night so the rebounds are not a surprise. That 3pt shot is what has me believing in this kid. A big who can stretch the floor is huge. I think if Mark can get on the court and stay healthy those 2 are gonna fit well together in the future.

I’ve been impressed with his defense. For a guy with a lot to learn he’s held his own well.

Boston tested him tonight and he didn’t look stupid
