Not this season. Maybe not even next season. Depends. If he makes another leap in ability in the offseason then yeah. I still don't quite see him playing with the same level of confidence that we saw in his college hoops. This doesn't always translate to the NBA though.

I fully expected Mose to keep him in fringe 3&D and my hope was he worked in the gym and blew Mose away in pre-season and well based on current games I would say that happened, because the leash AB has right now is multitudes higher then the leash he had last year.

I wanted the Magic to draft Black because I thought he had similar backgrounds with Paolo and Suggs, and they would mesh. They all 3 have football backgrounds and similar upbringing.

I think the whole team has adopted him as a little brother.

3:26 - AB misses 3 (team down 3 in the crunch, AB has the nerve to take the shot)
2:07 - AB sets screen, draws foul - goes 2/2 on FTs (go ahead FTs)
0:45 - AB hits go ahead 3 (tied game, Suggs makes the extra pass to AB in the corner, game on the line, AB hits it)

These are probably the biggest stakes the kid has played in to date, and definitely the most involved he has ever been - and he delivered. So proud of him to step up to the moment the way he did.

I only follow NBA tweeters and some Magic tweeters so my feed is oriented towards what I follow by default.

AB continuing to build. 6 assists against only 1 turnover, to go with 1 steal and 3 blocks. His scoring touch was off tonight but he did make a play down the stretch and got to the rim where the rest of the team had been struggling.

Being trusted to close out tight games twice in a row in Franz’s absence is a big show of trust in him. His role seems to have expanded into 6th man to start the season.

Much higher in the depth chart then where I expected Mose to put him.

I will continue to air regret, that any mistakes we see from him to me still stem from putting lack of trust in him last season. That being said, he is being allowed to figure it out now. I expect us to have what the heck games from him.

Last night, while not an offensive state line we like regarding PPG, it is becoming clear he has enough playmaking to "set the table", while bringing enough defense thru the last 4 games to be labelled as a fellow menace in the backcourt.

Will AB be given the chance to rise to the occasion in the SL? Or does Mose have some sort of Halloween trick up his sleeve?

AB, Jett and TDS all have big opportunities to stake their claim while Paolo’s out. I think AB could do well setting up Suggs, Franz and WCJ. Now is also the perfect time to get him those heavy duty reps with a good excuse to escape any negative consequences.

Starters are down a major playmaker, so AB coming in to replace that would make sense. He could run point and defend the 3 whilst Franz defends the 4. Cole and Mo plus Jett/TDS can be the 2nd unit offensive engines.

6 assists 2 turnovers in 28 minutes vs Cleveland......made some sound reads....few mistakes, like that one bad turnover where he didn't see garland in the corner.....need to be a bit more aggressive offensively

I'm not loving watching any more 7 points in 30 mins games.

So much patience for AB, if the offense continues to struggle Mose may have to activate Cole again

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.

AB is better than Cole given his defense and Swiss army knife ability. He just isn't a scorer/shooter at all. He needs to be surrounded by scorers and be a secondary ball handler at all times. Even though he's gotten better he's never going to be a reliable offensive option.

Cole was already reactivated, but not because of any AB shortcomings. ABs minutes and per game production are way up and he's impacting winning. Two pairs of mittens hanging in his locker out of three wins. He's increasing his offensive role by self-creating scoring opportunities around the rim, knocking down catch and shoot threes, and moving the ball for assists. His defense remains elite and is improving.

Says a lot about you when you only look at the points. Guys fills up the stat sheet more than cole and is actually playable.
