25 is good too. He is 20 years old and improving all aspects of his game, I am not sure why you are down playing it. No one is saying he is going to win the scoring title but its impressive he is averaging 21 points per game through the first 2 weeks given his age and experience.

Listen to the commentary plus crown noise on the lakers broadcast. Its night and day man, our broadcast is **** atrocious. They deafen the crowd and the commentary is just... at the very least blast the crowd noise like the lakers have it

We could be very well be 4-2 instead of 1-5, thats how good we are. We just lose close games.

I am curious to see if we maintain that level of play or if we come down a little.

The games never seem completely out of reach but our pt differential is -7.7 which to me says we're not as close as it seems.

We are - 2 against Denver, - 5 Charlotte and -6 Lakers -> That are close games, where we played very good.

That's true our season opener is really skewing things

Weren't there a lot of Lakers fans in the crowd? They all cheered for LeBron so I just assumed most of those dumbasses were just Laker fans.

I was there with my son last night. It felt like 40% of the crowd were Lakers fans not from the GTHA. The couple sitting behind us were Americans and hardcore Lakers fans and it was clear they had never seen Toronto play as they were very impressed by Dick. There were a few signs in the stands "I flew 1000 miles....."

It was clear that many Raptors season ticket holder sold their seats to Laker fans and made some $$$.

Interesting. Kind of like Leaf & Raptors fans taking over arenas. Makes sense.

There is a lack of interest in the team this year, so it's pretty easy to take over Scotiabank right now.

If I have to say out loud... note how the team is never complete? Three weeks Scottie, when he comes back im sure RJ will bump that shoulder into somebody. That way we don "suck" we're just "injured"

Phezmo123 wrote:Because it’s not like we’re faking injuries, and our plan at the start of the season is never to tank. Masai/Bobby have always evaluated after the first half of the season then pivoted.

If we are to tank, it’ll be clear by the deadline (ala trading Brown/Poeltl)

We're not faking injuries... let's say that we will be extremely cautious, for the good of the kids, you know?

They're not trading Jakob but it would not surprise me if he gets some freak injury around the ASB. If that fails somebody will hit Scottie in the bad hand, he'll drop to the floor and start getting ready for next october.

For what?! Wasting 3-4 years where they could've been focusing their efforts into building around Scottie as they are now (which is exactly what people have wanted from the beginning) vs wasting assets/time on a "core" of roleplayers that were never gonna do anything??

Facts.

I would let late runs let you think the team is close. Both the Charlotte and Lakers games their teams were ahead by ten in the fourth until late runs made the score more respectable.

I like our compete but this team is playing with a huge talent deficit. It will be interesting when everyone comes back, but I still think issues with basic defense and rebounding will surface.

Last night freethrow disparity is quite common and a sign of the defense being a step behind.

Toronto is also now 29th in three point attempts and 27 in shooting. Maybe IQ changes things but both Shead and Mitchell stink from outside. Agbaji is not reliable, and the rest are too unknown. I really hope Walter figures things out.

Weirdly, the team seems to play infinitely better when they have their threes going down. Maybe the FO needs to invest in more shooters?
