GT: Bucky at Iowa - 11/2/24 - 6:30 - NBC

Hawkeyes are 5-3, 3-2 in conference, same as the Badgers. Tough place to play.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I get the joke (god damnit I miss the B10 West) - but Iowa has a legit chance if they win.

They somehow drew a B10 West schedule this year. They could win out - and I'm not sure of all of the tiebreakers, but there's a chance that everybody except Oregon loses 2.

I guess they'd probably be boned on tiebreakers...but still stupid/crazy that they've drawn this schedule again.

If we lose , do they finally move on from Locke and start the freshman? At some point we are going to have make a move at th QB position ! Locke is not the answer, play for the future!

Playing the future is fine, but he's a true freshman. Not sure theres any world he's actually going to be successful in that situation

Brooks Bollinger made a huge difference as a freshman. That's obviously not the norm, but when your guy's ceiling is as low as Locke's, anyone with any real talent at least has the potential to be a breath of fresh air. I wouldn't be a dime on Mettauer doing well, but I wouldn't rule it out either. We need a little hope.

'Bama, PSU, and Oregon are obviously much more hyped games, but this to me is the biggest game of the year. They're obviously not ready to compete with the best teams, but being able to beat Iowa (and Nebraska and Minnesota, two out of three AT MINIMUM) would go a long ways toward convincing me that the program is on the way back to relevance.

This is an entirely new era. Unless you’re a surefire NFL/top 3 QB recruit, you probably aren’t going to start on a good team until at least your 3rd year.

The top QB talent is spread around so you can’t let your young guy take his lumps against another team doing the same. There are 30-40 teams with an experienced, good QB now with the portal instead of good guys stuck in the MAC or backing up at OSU.

It wouldn’t bother me to see him for a game, but I’d be absolutely stunned if a RS fresh/sophomore that is deemed “not ready” right now is what Fickell stakes his career on next season against yet another gauntlet of a schedule.

I guess most college QB's are bad, but god Locke misses so many throws.
