nothing we didn’t already know. supremely talented just doesn’t really have the killer instinct necessary to be a true franchise player

The point he made at the beginning about Jimmy saying early on that it was Towns' and Wiggins' team but eventually getting sick of it was 100% absolutely correct. To be fair, it was more a statement about Wiggins than Towns I think, but it was absolutely a thing. In Butler's first 12 games, he averaged 12.6 FGAs per game. From that point on to when he got hurt, Jimmy averaged 16.6 FGAs.

I think too for Jimmy it was a mentality thing but also, KAT and Wiggins were really young. They just were not on his level. He was operating at a top flight, win a title now mode. He was on that Jordan lets take this 100 percent seriously time and they were still on their we wanna have some fun phase. I think he got really turned off by them not being as serious as he was.

Wigigns I don't think ever really wanted to be great on that level. Towns maybe does but at time he was still young and probably didn't have the work ethic or mentality. Jimmy was probably the clear adult in the room between the three when it came to preparation and he had no patience. He probably resented them for having so much talent and squandering it. That said, a lot of other vets would have been more patient and tried to work with those goes and bring them along in a more encouraging way. That wasn't Jimmy's MO. He didn't have the patience or inclination.

Right but now he patiently allow KAT to drop 44 on top of his head.

Wednesday's game he showed everything including hard drives to the Basket. His game is more complementary to Brunson. And when teams focus on taking away Brunson, KAT will likely cook like he did Wednesday and vice vsrsa. Bridges is a stud #3. OG and Hart are capable as 4th and 5th starters offensively.

This team is nowhere near gelled yet offensively or defensively. However there is so much talent they should be able to beat the non elite teams (most of the time) until they do gel.

Wolves fan here with some thoughts and a question.

1. The biggest issue with KAT is his complaining to the refs. He took more contact year to year than either Embiid or Joker but didn’t get the whistle because he had a poor reputation with the refs. Give anyone a superstar whistle and their numbers will improve. Give KAT a superstar whistle in his prime and he could be MVP.

2. Karl is a people pleaser. He may not have the killer instinct of a Jimmy Butler or Embiid, but he will make your locker room and culture run better.

3. How is Karl doing for you guys? Have you seen his defensive improvement yet? I haven’t been following you, but his stats look good.

KAT’s passing ability is something that I wasn’t previously aware of.

And he showed offensive toughness last night against Detroit. He defense is improving under Thibs, as he works into the system.

He's learning how to play help defense with his new crew and is getting some good stops. Mostly it is about the team all manning up and switching effectively and that will improve with OG and Bridges leading the way.

He's rebounding at a high level and often clearing the boards in traffic. His offense is efficient and buttery smooth and he's rapidly improving as a passer and finding teammates. He's not playing soft, but also not engaging in meaningless physical contact which I prefer for him.

He looks elite to most of us.

Glad he is doing well. Hopefully now he will get the rep and appreciation he deserves from the rest of the league.

Good. He deserves a lot better than what the narrative has been.

He's already one of the three best centers in the team's history. If we win it all he'll be a legend.

Cannot root for that. Sorry but I am Wolves fan. I do wish you well in the regular season and playoffs, but the finals are all us ;)

TBH, your window was last year. You're going to be a greatly diminished team without KAT. But on the off chance we meet in the finals, see you there.

I think the situation with Butler, Wiggins and KAT was the age timeline. Butler was already a vet in his prime and he knows what it takes to win and wants to win now.

It eerily similar to Kyrie in Boston with 2 young kids in Tatum and Brown.

That's a great metaphor. It gets overshadowed by Haywards injury but Kyrie had no patience for Brown and Tatum to develop.
