I'm super impressed with Black this season after only seeing him standing in the corner all last year. PG is the hardest spot to get adjusted to so he's learning fast. He's not as passive as he was last year so hopefully he becomes what we've been missing since Penny left, the tall unicorn guard.

Is someone getting their holidays mixed up?
Bro, this one was where people get dressed up! I think you’re mistaking it for the other one in April.

I’ve got 1001 more excuses which will probably cover his next 3 seasons of basketball.

I've always defended Suggs in his first 2 years. I'm still a big Suggs fan. I'm a fan of AB too and he was my pick. For me it's really not about Black. He is gonna be a good player and I don't want any of the players drafted around him instead. It's really the general guard composition that I criticize and a bit the Homer expectations by some, expecting AB to become a player his skills set & physical attributes doesn't justify.
The 3rd guard is the problem for me. The guards next to Suggs & Black. Having 2 lesser Suggs instead of the guard type we are missing and who is fundamentally important to be more than just a 1st or 2nd round exit team and to become a good offensive team.

Kid has shown defensive versatility and some passing sense but offense is king in the current NBA and if you can't put pressure on the defense as a threat to score your team is basically playing 4on5.
With Paolo out it is now put up or shut up time for AB. He needs to show more offense and not resemble Killian Hayes 2.0.
im sorry, i thought we were 6 games into his sophomore year, on a player that was known to be a project at PG coming in.
I didnt realize he was so far into his career that we are talking about "excuses" now. I guess with you, Suggs shouldnt be here considering his first 2 years

You typically aren't looking for a "project" with the sixth pick.
How many other James Wisemans, Killian Hayes' and MO Bambas do we want?

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.

AB came into the league as a 19 year old raw pg with defensive upside. He didn’t have an elite offensive game nor did he display elite pg vision and play making ability. We ( management ) only gave him Markel Fultz to learn from, let that sink in MARKEL FULTZ who now can’t even find a team to play for.

Re: Just how many more excuses do we have for AB?
I think AB has played pretty well especially for a 19 year old playing in his second season. What impresses most is he doesn't make a lot of mistakes. He's been much better with the ball in his hands. He's made some nice passes and he's had some dribble penetration to get in to the paint and attack the rim. He's gotten to the free throw line and made some 3s. Then there's his defense.
AB is just getting started
AB is just getting started

the entire top-6 this year are projects. #3-6 last year were projects. Kuminga, Wiseman, players get drafted high on potential all the time

Re: Just how many more excuses do we have for AB?
The timing was just off. 2 years ago AB would have been thrown into the fire at starting PG because we didn't care about the record. Last year, we were too good and they just weren't willing to let a rookie have such responsibility. It was nice to make the playoffs and be exciting again, but now we have a raw AB who is a 1 year vet at backup SF and still a rookie at PG. Long term, it was a mistake, imo. Same thing with Jett. He'd be way more dangerous offensively this season had he played last season. This is basically his rookie season.

whaaat??
I'd pick Black over WCS and Culver, hen Buddy Hield is already 32 with grand total of 22 pts scored in playoffs, lets wait 3-4 years before we use the list above as a prove for anything.

AB is 20 years old and 280 days. Look at Suggs stats at the same age. Actually, AB is ahead of Suggs at the same age. Suggs had plenty of goose egg games with a few turnovers.

1,376,574 with an extra 100 excuses if we still manage to make the 2nd round this year. This goes up to another 1,000,000 if we enter the ECF.

Re: Just how many more excuses do we have for AB?
If AB can maintain a over 36% on 3's during his career with his defense, he will be a solid NBA player for years to come. At worst, he feels like a solid 2nd team bench player, but has potential to be a starter someday. Time will tell as it is way too early for some developmental players.
