3 team tiers, at least for the first 6 picks. Maybe it's the first 12 picks, and then the last tier is 4. sunskerr knows the details.
2025 draft lotto/order
16. 1st place (champion)
15. 2nd place
14. 3rd place
13. 4th place
tier 4.(picks 10-12) 5th 6th 7th
tier 3 (picks 7-9) 8th 9th 10th
tier 2 (picks 4-6) 11th 12th 13th
tier 1 (picks 1-3) 14th 15th 16th
in 2026 (season after this one) we might be experimenting with tying our lotto to the NBA lottery for- at the risk of sounding like David Stern- the sake of driving up enthusiasm. And I may have made an error in thinking about how teams tank, develop, fluctuate year-to-year, etc. when formulating the above tiered system, so the NBA system might just be a really easy solution to this whole thing. Of course we'd modify it so like 14th and 13th seeds (3rd and 4th places) can't win the #1 pick.
Probably should have done it this year...if yall wanna vote on it we can do that

doubt it passes mid-season. Sorry about that.
As for not setting lineups and responding to trade offers, I generally side with Kleine in that it's better to be reasonable/honest. Ignoring offers/communications probably does you more harm than good as an ignored inquiry is probably going to make a manager think "why bother" when it comes to future discussions. Setting lineups is just a matter of fair play. And we can catch tanking fairly easily which results in a fairly harsh penalty.
We're got a good mix of invested, new, and laissez-faire sort of managers. We have to be generally relaxed because despite us being a (because of the mixed nature of managers in the league) semi-competitive league, it's a pretty chill league- everyone works different hours, and we're international.
But there are limits to being relaxed/casual, particularly when it becomes an inconvenience or negligence. Setting lineups and checking dms here and trade offers in-app in 30 seconds every day or even two days is not a big ask at all. I think we're definitely more than gracious enough when it comes to managers having real lives (see: our amazing draft clock policy

).
