Wemby's DNA needs to be checked to make sure he's actually a human.

Our championship window is closing fast. I think we need to win it all this year or bust.

Don't over buy. Let them make the playoffs first before we start crowning the Spurs and closing our window.

True. They still have to prove themselves.

Wemby hasn't even leveled up yet. How good can he really become?

I look at Wemby like a stock. I'll buy some, but I wouldn't over buy and I'll sell fast if I see warning signs. I don't know how good he can be, but I will say history has shown us that players at his height will eventually be burden with some kind of persistent injury. He's just too jerky out there for his frame. It's bound to happen. His strength is interior. His outside shot sucks. Hard to see he can improve beyond his career average, which isn't great to begin with.

It's his 2nd year in the league. He's only 20 years old. :o His skills and work ethic = a near certainty he will improve.

As he fills out and gains muscle, he will become even more dominant ala Giannis.

However, the injury issues for guys his size is definitely a real concern. We will have to see how the Spurs manage his health.

Write a hit piece about an athlete and be surprised that they take exception to their dead brother being used as a negative point. I live by a simple code, I don't say things about peoples dead relatives because I believe it could get me punched in the face, whether justified or not. And guess what? Nobody has punched me in the face.

Check the comments, it's not just me, once people found out the why behind the assault it's basically split down the middle.

If no one’s punched you in the face you’re really missing out on important life event  explaining what drives a player is important information, even if it’s in an article that critical about him. Like I said in the last post, I would have found in endearing if this became common knowledge some other way and not after an assault. It wasn’t an attack on his family but the standard that Embiid has set for himself. Embiid’s inability to stay in shape or be healthy is a major issue and it’s holding him back from being truly great. It sounds like another reporter in the locker room said the guy that wrote this article apologized when they were yelling at each and Embiid still attacked him.

I grew up boxing, I don't need to get punched in the face for the things I say, it's happened enough recreationally. Other reporters are saying Hayes was wrong, you just don't touch on family, it's not that difficult to avoid. Embiid can be wrong, but you can't dictate how someone reacts to mentioning your dead brothers name and at the end of the day it was just a shove, Hayes will live. The real failure here is that the Sixers allowed him to be in the same room with Embiid, that is organizational stupidity.

Im lost how there's Hayes sympathizers here  If I was in Embiid's shoes I would've literally punched him in the face. Anyone mentioning a dead family member to write a hit piece is getting knocked out.

He'd probably go third in the draft with numbers like that

A lot of people live in a world where they think freedom of speech means you're free from the consequences of how someone may react to those words

that and sports really does bring out the worst in us. i know these are famous people and that operate in a different realm. but imagine a boss or coworker using your grief to question your work ethic and THEN others justifying it. it's all absurd. and to act as if embiid shouldn't lose his sht over questioning his work ethic using his dead brother and son is wild.

and I know they say violence isn't the answer but sometimes it actually is. people should fear consequences.

Yea, imagine some member of a forum uses your grief to question your life choices and have others defend it...unconscionable...

He’s also hitting a lot of mid range shots!!!!

As long as the run the offense through him like they did last night they’ll be a better team!!

F*** Embiid. It was a poor move by the journalist but Embiid again shows what an out of control child he is. I guess when you can't intentionally injure other players on the court because you're frustrated, try to intentionally injure whoever is around you.
