Does anyone else but me thing sga is taking way to many threes. He's getting away from what makes him so great. The team is not moving the ball as good when he's doing that.

Caruso-Dort? I think that duo would be very close.
Btw, it's crazy to see that Utah could be in bottom top 5. Their pick would have enormous value at trade deadline.

unfortunately It's top 10 protected so that pick has 0 value...only chance is to convey next year.

can't complain after being 6-0 and playing A+ defense but we gotta play better offense at some point. Some difficult games coming so we will need to play better.

it's not complaining, it's just reality. the defense has been phenomenal, and even if it's not sustainable it seems we're a lock for a top 3 defense this season. when hartenstein is back we can safely assume his impact in non-chet minutes defensively will be a positive.
but the offense has some troubling warts. the inability to get to the line, the poor mid-range shooting from everyone, the lack of ball handling.

Yeah, later I saw it's top 10 protected.

So, Clippers pick and Philly's pick could be late lottery.

Thought the team played poorly vs the Clippers yet still managed to win the game. That's a good sign. Now let's not make a habit out of the playing poorly part.

One could argue that it has still been beneficial. Ainge has that franchise spinning its wheels in the mud because he is afraid of the optics of losing that pick. That top-10 protected pick carrying over year after year has essentially neutered that organization until it expires. That’s one less potential competitor.

Eventually Ajay Mitchell would be getting that 4 year deal.
Probably malevy Leons getting waived or either of Dieng/Jaylin being moved to make space as 15th man.
That Malevy Leons 1 year deal is kind of surprising.

Yes that Leon's deal I just don't understand. Especially with how dieng is playing this year.

Is Chet ok? Was watching the game and noticed he didn't come back in after subbing out in the 3rd. Just sat there on the bench the rest of the game. Didn't see the very end so don't know how he looked walking around.
I did notice he had a couple awkward falls in the game, one where Bitadze rolled up on his foot and another where he had a put back dunk and landed funny on his legs and fell.
I'm just hoping the reason he didn't play was because the game wasn't close and they wanted to give him some rest.

I don’t take too much away from that game. We were due for a loss.
I am getting a little bit tired of Caruso looking like Andre Roberson on offense.
Is Wiggins the most undervalued player in the nba?

well they weren't gonna win every game I guess. 8 TO's for SGA are unacceptable. Need to clean that up.
Saw a few bad 3s in that game as well, shots with hands in the face. Usually don't see that from OKC. Need to get back to last year's ball movement/players cutting offense taht was so fun to watch.

Re: 2024-2025 OKC Thunder Games Thread
the eight game stretch to start this year matches the worst eight game stretch offensively the team had all of last season (shai missed two of those games). i think the offense is approaching mild concern territory. some of it is shooting variance. wallace and caruso- you expect them to shoot better from three. but the league worst FTr (which, also matches last season's very worst span) and poor percentages inside the arc seem more schematically driven to me.
i get the thunder want to play a bunch of guys and develop them but i dunno, i wish we'd tighten things up and at least pretend like we're the best team in the league. my main rotational gripe is ajay mitchell entering games before aaron wiggins, who has come off last season looking even better. i'd give all of mitchell's minutes to wiggins. he has been dynamite on offense.
i don't know how hartenstein will help the offense, if he does at all. but last night he would have helped mightily when chet got his two idiot fouls early and we had to go to our small lineup with jokic still out there. it went about how you'd expect. it will be nice to be able to insert another dominant defensive big in those situations.
jdub had a great game overall but almost all his damage was done sharing the court with shai. without shai, jdub units were -5 in 9 minutes, put up about 75pp100 and he scored nine points on seven shot attempts. he is failing spectacularly in his reserve units. unlike the overall struggles offensively, this is something that has carried over from last year post-deadline.

One could tell from sgas body language and expressions last night that he was way off. I hope he's just tired and not injured.

I think Jdub will synergise and play better with Hartenstein. He will help get him going down hill more with some dribble hand offs and screens which should balance those non Shai lineups.

Dillon Dad bod Jones seems like a very peculiar pick to me.

I'm with you. What we have seen from our two 2024 picks at the moment, Mitchell would be our 1'round pick and Jones the 2'round.
But I'm not determined above it after just 9 games in the season. In the preseason Dillon was also very promising.
But Mitchell could very well be a 2'round steal as Aaron Wiggins. (and Isaiah Joe)
