Re: Jaylen Brown Thread – Finals MVP, 2024
“I feel like the best player is the guy that wins a championship, wins it all, and is the best player for his team. So the best player in the NBA, probably I would say is Jaylen Brown,” Antetokounmpo said. “You cannot say you’re the best player if you’re on a team who didn’t win. It doesn’t matter if you got the MVP, or you’re All-NBA. If you don’t make your team win, that’s not the best.”

Not a fan of Gilbert Arenas but it's funny watching him and McCants go at SAS for his crap with JB

Same with his lateral movement. He's gotten stronger and straight-line speed doesn't decline as quickly but like 100% of humans including pro basketball players, Jaylen's athleticism has been declining since his early 20s.

An average athlete at best. Not a great dunker. A negative person in the locker room, selfish. Celtics are better without him. Oh boy, listen to those things since 7/8 years is dreadfulSweet Serenity wrote:BK_2020 wrote:I don't know how long you've been watching the Celtics but Jaylen's hops have declined significantly since his first few seasons. Re: Jaylen Brown Thread – Finals MVP, 2024
It's becoming a pattern that JB has these nagging injuries every season.
All that bully ball and power moves puts the player at a higher chance of getting an injury.
Maybe JT shooting 3s is not such a bad thing because shooting from the outside lessens the pounding from all that contact from attacking the basket.

Nah, JB's a beast. For playoff teams the NBA is an 8 month season. IMO, it's a load management situation. He's up to 36mpg so far which isn't ideal. The NBA is looking real hard into this type of stuff so teams are being careful how they label it to the league. Unless a major injury happens, I'm sure the staff has a set plan in place to stagger these decisions during the season between all the starters. I've been saying since the offseason that the #1 seed going forward is meaningless at this point, health is more important.

Agree.
Health is more important.
But I don't think this hip injury is just load management.
I saw JB grimace after a collision in one of the games this season.
