Hawks Fricasseed! Victory Cigar vs ATL 11/4

Post#1 » by bisme37 » Tue Nov 5, 2024 2:44 am

What what you guys we won another big game!

Tatum beastmode! Also Pritchard and Derrick and Al and Jruuuuue! And guys like Queta, Walsh and Springer did stuff too! Fun!

It looked like we had a game on our hands for a few minutes but the C's blew it open in the 2nd quarter and never looked back. JT was unconscious, and once we started rebounding and playing defense, the Hawks really had nothing for us. Trae Young 2 points.

Warriors Wednesday! Steve Kerr boo hiss! Go C's!!

Easy money. Voted Tatum. White, Queta, Jrue and PP all with good games. Baylor Scheierman is Jerome Moiso levels of bad as a first round pick. Dump this guy asap

7th game where Cs lead by 17+ at some point in the game. 7th win. Still number 1 offense in history of mankind. James Naismith didn't even envision putting the ball in the peach basket to be this good. Protect the net rating!

Beyond Tatum, White and Holiday being themselves, the Celtics showed a lot of positives out there.

Pritchard can still score, and Hauser's getting his mojo back.

Queta got briefly pulled in the first half for defensive instructions, but played a strong game. You can feel how close he is to making a leap into being a first line NBAer. That guy can really REALLY set picks. He's got some sort of mystical invisible intangibles aura that makes the whole team better.

Jordan Walsh's defense was outstanding. Very impressive.

Horford was lively and bouncing, although he was overshadowed by his great Mom. I could go for some plaintains.

Scheierman is so perplexing. There's not much to say. So far he looks like a quarterback who also plays basketball sometimes. Maybe Maine will work some sort of magic on him. Probably not, but maybe.

The Celtics played without cookies and also without cream. While other teams fold after suffering injuries, Boston had no Porzingis, no Brown, and didn't miss a beat.

Early season numbers are funny. BOS jumps to 4th (from 12th) in defensive rating on CTG after just one game.

I missed the game but looking at the box score Queta had 2 fouls in 23 minutes. He averages 5.5 fouls per 36 for his career including a comical 8.7 fouls/36 2 years ago. Gotta learn to not foul. Not a bad night in that department

Thought Queta was a little slow to react on a few rebound situations early on. I do want him to be more self-aware and not take these contested interior shots. If his footwork cannot create an opening and he can't make a dunk attempt, then pass it out. I will say I thought Scal's scolding him not finishing more lobs was unjustified overall as the passes were butt a number of times. Glad they made more use of the PnR tonight.

voted Tatum for being a flamethrower and distributer in the 1st half, and Queta to commemorate his first NBA start

excited about Queta's potential. I mean, I would've traded a lot of draft capital to get what we're seeing out there from him. Keep on developing, Big Man!

Hat tips to Jrue and White for their excellent-ness, and Walsh for continuing to look really promising, and Pritchard for being a baller all over the court tonight (including on defense in the post)

the lob throwers aren't yet locked in with Luke or Queta -- had a bunch of 'almosts' tonight -- good ideas that should get better as we go

Really rooting for Walsh to make it as a pro, he clearly is a very hard worker and looks like he has the tools to be a decent defensive player. Still a little bit shy/nervous on the offensive front. Hopefully that can improve with more minutes

I am very happy Joe is giving him trust and quality minutes this season.

Walsh will be our version of Shane Battier.

Just like Q, Walsh just needs more experience.

DWhite & Jrue have a combined four votes so far, but someone held Trae to 2/6 on 1/10 shooting.

If Derrick White isn't an all star, I'm going to riot. That Tatum fellow is alright too.
