That’s not even a top 5 reason the Knicks lost tonight so I don’t get the point in even mentioning it.

It adds up when you let guys walk into the damn paint. Did you watch the game?
Or perhaps you like how soft he is on defense? Should i mention how Brunson is often tunnel vision? Or that deuce was ice cold and so was bridges? Or maybe you’d like the fact the kat can’t guard a damn tree and if he would stop playing drop coverage and press up then those ball handlers dont attack him with a head of steam, or ready to post.

Drop coverage matters, get a clue, rook.

Like I said. Not even top 5 reasons why they lost. Brunson played the entire second half and he struggled. Deuce struggled offensively too. Bunch of no calls and bad decision making by Thibs and Brunson and yet we were down three with a couple minutes to go. If anything you can say Towns’ isolation defense was bad, and if he was able to stop sengun half the times down the stretch we have a chance to win, but Towns playing in drop is not what doomed the team.

He just doesn't trust the rooks yet. It's pretty frustrating.

They dont look ready yet. Would fans be ok with the rookies getting the experience and playing more minutes in a bigger loss? maybe idk

If you have two good wing defenders you can put your center on Hart, your physically strongest defender on KAT and then you put your quickest/best defender on Brunson. He cannot post up some of these jumbo sized wings, so that takes away a weapon, and if you try and get KAT involved in the screen they will switch it so he has to go against a good perimeter defender instead of the C which is where he mismatch hunts, and third if you call for a screen with Hart they don't care about what he does. The C guarding Hart will roam and blow up offense all over the place, this has been a theme all season for teams with the personnel to do it.

This gets Tom into the trap of trying to post up KAT, which looks like a mismatch but kills ball movement and the C helping off Hart will be everywhere.

The best way to get around this would be to use KAT more like how we used IHart, but for whatever reason we have not really tried to use him as a hub passer. That will give Hart the edge on the C guarding him and open up cuts, ball movement etc, it's how our offense worked last year from Jan into the playoffs.

Jalen needs to play off the ball more instead of generating everything himself. Mix in some catch and shoot into his offensive game. He doesn't have to be the focal point of the offense every play nor does he have to be the primary ball handler every time either.

There was ZERO reason not to play Hukporti. People out here blaming Brunson for the loss when him and OG were the only reason the game was even close.

Hart was good too. Honestly Sims was a net positive in the minutes he was out there. Did he make some mistakes sure, but if anything he was just a small part of the problems of tonight but most of them are fixable with time.

Sims was net positive because Deuce was doing work on the defensive end.
Sims fouled Adams when he had no shot with 2 seconds on the shot clock.
Then on the next play down missed a rebound where no one was around him and hit the ball of his own hand,
He previously ran into JB while collecting a rebound and allowed JB’s defender to to maul him in the back court.
This isn’t something “fixable”, this is SIms’ third year

I was saying the same thing, let hart orchestrate the team because he was pushing the pace and got us to within 1 with a pass to bridges. Let Brunson play off ball.

Bridges was also quite bad. Total non-factor for the 5 FRP man.

OG was great though.

Nobody’s “clamping” Lamelo like Amen did to Brunson tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If we had Lamelo instead of brunson we would’ve won this game by double digits!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But that’s a conversation this board isn’t ready to have yet so I digress!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brunson tonight was the random 2k park teammate turboing into traffic with his free agent Iverson card.

When Brunson is guarded but the jumbo wing or forward, move the ball to KAT and let him play out the high post with a pass to the dunker’s spot or let him pick and pop, it takes all of five minutes into the game to realize this, yet thibs doesn’t

That’s how we won with ihart

JB already left money on the table for the team. It will be surprising if he is not willing to sacrifice touches for the betterment of the squad.

We gonna live with 500 ball for a little bit until we get healthy and more chemistry. I liked the fight tonight but I feel like no adjustments were made on the D at all by Thibs which is surprising. Especially in the 4th they ran low post with Sengun like 4 possessions in a row. Had KAT on him twice and OG on him twice. I think he scored every time. You think there would be more adjustment than just switching up your defender. All learning points as we move on. I did hear one of the guys say Precious is close to returning which will be huge for our bench.
Fire Thibs!

Return to New York Knicks
