Probably a slim chance of happening, but seeing how Leon been moving I wouldn’t be surprised if that was his motive all along. We’ve been linked to Giannis for a while. It looks like the only true untouchable player on this roster is Brunson.

Yep.

Leon depleted the warchest. This is what we have for now unless there's a lateral move or trades for bench pieces.

Rival teams think we want to use KAT for Giannis though, so that’s where it gets interesting.
True.

However, rival execs said RJ's contract was untradable, Randle has no trade value, etc, so I wouldn't put much stock in rivals talking their talk. They like to stir the pot.

And while of course pulling off a trade for a dominant player like Giannis would be amazing for us.... I just don't think we have the assets to outbid other teams.

This isn't the same as a KAT trade where we'd be betting against ourselves.

I don’t think we have the assets either but idk maybe there’s some truth to the rumor about us using KAT for Giannis. We’ll probably have a better idea if Giannis asks out.

Based on what I’ve seen from this front office over the years, if we’re linked to a player for quite some time we end up getting them. Might be the same case with Giannis. Also getting OG, Mikal and KAT seemed like long shots to happen but here we are. I don’t think we can rule out a Giannis trade yet.

A lot will depend on MIL. What do they want back. Do they want a complete reset?

If they just want to get out of the contract and reset with draft picks then we will not be in play.

But if there FO/Ownership doesn't want to be bad for years and years they may want to get good players for Giannis.

My guess is they want to do a full reset but you never know what ownership is thinking. Some don't want to miss playoffs for years and years especially in smaller markets and hurt there pockets like that.

Talking to "rival FOs" is like talking to exes...you think they're going to be real? No, they're just trying to stir stuff up...

Especially when it comes to the Knicks, they love crapping on a player wearing a Knicks jersey and as soon as they aren't they've become amazing assets. Once a player gets into a Knicks' jersey, they've got more warts than a frog.

I'm not surprised people still fall for their crap, fans are dummies
If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right
...you are a fan of your opinion not the team.

Look giannis and wemby linking up would be awesome if we were still a trash franchise. But im trying to see a chip before I die. So ffs please don't let that happen.

*unless we win it this year then I'm okay with it happening in the offseason.

Im gonna assume they prob still want to compete cause they just signed doc rivers to a 4 year contract. He doesn't seem like a rebuilding type of a coach. Or unless they fire him too

Coaches get fired all the time...especially bad ones like Rivers.

Lillard is getting older but they might want to try and be a play-in type team.

Who knows...but Knicks will clearly keep tabs on the situation.

Giannis on the Knicks would be comedy, everyone in the paint, and i mean EVERY KNICK in the paint
Brunson can’t figure out how to use a floor spacer in KAT, you think he would figure it out with Giannis who is Julius on roids?

Giannis or either washed or exposed. You pick one.

And he is not gonna age well. He is not Jokic, once he starts piling up the injuries, it will be over for him.

Plenty of good young guys to go after, should this Brunson - KAT experiment fail.

With the Bucks and Sixers being utter trash, the Knicks being mid and Clevaland being playoff chokers the Celtics will probably have an easier road to the finals this season than they had last season.
