Would Boucher be in the NBA if the Raptors didn't sign him?
I don't think anyone wanted him when we signed him to an extension?
His trade value isn't there and he's been on the team forever as a role player. I'm under the firm belief no team wanted this guy and we bid against ourselves on his last contract.
Any tweets or sources indicating another team had interest in him?
He doesn't play a winning brand of basketball. The turnovers, not passing at all, can't bang in the post but can't move laterally, and worse of all the 3pt chucking. He's a non shooter with the shooter mentality. You can't win with a ball hogging scrub on the floor.

That's a good question.

He played a single minute in a single game with the Warriors before his stint with us.
So the answer is already a firm yes, regardless of context.

i dont get the hate for him, he is high variance chucker who plays with energy coming off the bench. you could do a lot lot worse for someone making 10 mil playing 20 min a game.

Chris Boucher agreed to a three-year, $35.25 million deal, his agent Sam Permut of Roc Nation Sports told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Several teams expressed interest in signing Boucher as a free agent, including Eastern Conference playoff teams from last season, including the Celtics, Bucks, Nets and Bulls, before he agreed to a deal with the Raptors, HoopsHype has learned.

Energy big who's a 33% 3PT shooter and blocks shots. Closing on 3200 career pts and 1900 rebs, played 60 then 80 games going into FA with not much injury history. Been in 2 championship locker rooms for teams that care about that.
Not a hard question, he'd be on a bench somewhere.

Yes. What kind of question is this? There was like 5 teams after him in FA.

Re: Would Boucher be in the NBA if the Raptors didn't sign him?
Boucher just doesn't fit the team. He doesn't like to pass and he has a big wingspan on defense but he is like a 200 lb C.
He can get hot from outside but you know within 2 mins if you are getting good Boucher. You kind of knew he didn't have it tonight but the depth is bad.
I don't know if he gets a multi-year contract. But he might get a minimum somewhere.

That’s not what OP asked though. He wanted to know if anyone else was after him in FA. He could have just searched it. There were a bunch of teams interested. He would have gotten a contract.

Re: Would Boucher be in the NBA if the Raptors didn't sign him?
After the season he had why wouldn’t any team want him? Problem is his athleticism has kind of fallen badly. Rebound and block rate down huge and he doesn’t do either of those things fundamentally so it was very much dependent on energy and athleticism. He can still get hot offensively time to time though.

He certainly would not be making his current salary or anything close to it.

Time to move on from him. This guy would be a good fit on a Lakers team. I do not enjoy his style of play though. I appreciate his energy, but he is so awkward and his IQ is pretty poop

Yes, he's not that bad. He can be inconsistent but sometimes he provides a huge spark off the bench. I understand the criticism that he doesn't fit the style of the team now but we've only gotten smaller since those trades last year and we don't have any bigs to replace him either.

Boucher isn’t a starter, but he’s a solid bench energy guy.

There were teams interested in Boucher back when we extended him. I really double the give him double digit contracts. He's never seem to be a NBA level bench player. On offense what skills does he have? He can't shoot, post up, dribble, or even set good picks. He slips and runs at the basket?
I don't like how he hogs the ball and when he does pass it usually results in a turnover. He should dumped as soon as possible.

Too inconsistent and he's going to be squeezed out if and when we finally get healthy. I do think his time on the team is up.

I would've cut ties with this chucker when he hit free agency. I suspect his contract was mostly for trade ballast purposes.

I haven't heard of any team being interested in him while he's been a Raptor. Those other reports of the Celtics and others being interested sounds like fake buzz created by his agent to drive up his value. We overpaid for a minimum player. I'm glad he got set up for life but it was a bad move by management.

He had good timing to get overpaid. Matching salaries in these trades isn't easy.
