The defense in the 2h, especially the 4th was really bad. Luckily steph saved us from this trap game. The starters were good though; 53 drtg for the game is nuts.

Onto the Celtics.

This win was needed. The next 6 games are a bit of a nightmare

Boston (A), Cavs (A), OKC (A)
Essentially the 3 best teams early into the season all away B2B2B. Nice scheduling by the NBA.

Then Mavs (H), Grizz (H), & Clippers (A)
Grizzlies should be a win, but Mavs are tough and Clippers an obnoxious matchup issue for Warriors.

Yes.

Steph, wiggs, gp2, dray, and tjd had a drtg of 53.3 with a net rtg of 59.2.

Basically every 5 man unit got crushed defensively in the 4th.

Some interesting combinations to look at with Steph back. One of the things I think that is important early on in the season is for the team to find good combinations that show obvious chemistry with Steph.

The lineups with Steph, Buddy, Draymond, and Kyle look promising. Steph and Draymond are an all-time iconic duo and pairing them with a sort of copycat Buddy and Kyle tandem is the kind of creative tinkering I'm down for. It allows for Steph to play off Draymond, Draymond-like Kyle, and Klay-like Buddy and also for Buddy to do the same. The possible synergies are enticing.

I was looking forward to seeing how Steph and Lindy might look together. A little disappointing being a net 0 in their around 3 minutes but still not that much time to form an opinion on it.

I continue to notice dubious performance with Podz and Hield together without Kuminga or Steph. That's been a pattern for multiple games now. Or maybe it is Buddy and Wiggins that aren't showing chemistry.

I haven't looked at the stats, but the eye test shows Slomo and Dray are an awful combination. Way too similar and should specifically be played once at a time.

That would be my initial reaction too in general but with both Steph and Buddy on the court with them and the chemistry Steph has with Draymond and something similar with Buddy and Kyle I could see surprising emergent properties in the lineup. From the data I'm looking at they were +9 in a little less than 3 minutes at the end of this game. On the other hand I also see that Kyle, Draymond, Buddy, Podz, and Waters are the worst 5 man lineup among the top 20 in minutes played with a -125 net points per 100 possessions in just under 4 minutes played so your point is well taken.

Dray/slomo have been -3.5 netrtg.

They are a plus when wiggins is their wing or when tjd is the C with slomo at wing. The defense is really good.

Outside of that, it's pretty grim.

Did not see the game yet, did Wiggs got hurt? I saw he only played 18 minutes.

Had his left knee wrapped and didn't not return in the 3q. I'm guessing it was more precautionary than a serious injury because he was on the bench rather than in the lockerroom. He was bricking shots anyways, so wasnt a big loss on offense. But his loss was felt on defense.

The Warriors have always had rough schedules. The west coast teams always suffer in all the major sports.

I can see the closing lineup ending up having buddy and Kyle at times with Steph, Dray, and Wiggs. Kyle is such a good defender. He gets his hands on so many balls it's ridiculous.

I thought Jared Butler played well for the Wizards. He's on a two-way deal I think? If he falls through the cracks next year they should invite him over.
